Re: 'Smart' motorways

Well thanks for giving your view, anyway :D . Personally, I disagree with pretty much all of it, but hey that's what a forum is for - so everyone gets to give their view, presuming that they want to. As a starter for ten, I'll throw in a news report about monitoring of the cameras, the same cameras ...

Re: 'Smart' motorways

Maybe they were using the tenth man principle, a variant of which keeps me occupied in a variety of arguments on social media, some of which I don't even believe in but which I feel duty bound to shout for simply because nobody else is :D

Chris Kinloch

The MMOC has recently received the very sad news that one of our stalwart team of MOT organisers has passed away. Chris Kinloch was well known in the MOT fraternity and the wider MMOC as the owner of possibly the only sage green Traveller in existence. Chris was a passionate advocate of all that MOT...

Re: Signature File Attachments

You're very lucky I gave up trying months ago. Yeah, because it's the rubbish boards fault that it can't display a photo in your sig file that you've given '.jpg' as the filename for  The board is creaky and cranky and just about hanging on - yes I am still talking about the board - so it come...

Re: Stopped getting notifications

Just posted here from my personal account to set up requests for notifications, then posted from admin account to trigger a notification, and got the email just a few moments later. All seems to be working for me? Have you had the notifications about *this* post?

Re: Image / Photo uploads not working AGAIN!

The image above was posted from my own personal account, which doesn't have any privileges over a 'standard' user and has uploaded okay. Do you want to PM me Geo and step me through what happens for you?
Cheers

Re: Brittany Ferries coronavirus cancellation + MOT 2020

Well it would seem that telling them not to bother and I'd just go to court for it has changed their minds - I received three automated credits back to the original card from Travelodge this morning. Happy now, just dunno why we had to spend so long arguing about it!

Re: Brittany Ferries coronavirus cancellation + MOT 2020

My emails from DFDS and Travelodge all come from a Do Not Reply address - it's an intentional fob off. I told Travelodge today I'm bored with their games - either refund me, or issue me with a letter of deadlock and I'll go via MCOL and let them sort it out. Everyone's playing fast and loose with th...

Too late, looks like the damage has been done. I looked at this, and the poster concerned was last active on the forum about 15 minutes after they made this post and hasn't been back since, so hasn't seen any replies. Sorry Mike but not strictly true. If she/they remembered they had made the post i...

Re: Member - Non Member Field

...or had a members only section then people would know who they were dealing with... I'd love a members only sectionn, but the issue falls to managing it. Every time a new application arrived I'd have to trawl through the members database and check they were a club member. But that's the easy bit....

Re: STATEMENT BY THE DIRECTORS OF THE MMOC ON THE COVID-19/CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC

No, that's not how it works. It is wholly unrealistic for the club to moderate that field and ensure that the answer provided is correct. Apart from the fact that many thousands of usernames on the forum are not peoples real names rendering it impossible for a moderator to correlate forum members to...

Re: STATEMENT BY THE DIRECTORS OF THE MMOC ON THE COVID-19/CORONA VIRUS PANDEMIC

It's not necessarily safe to assume that a 'No' in the MMOC member field means that someone isn't a paid up member of the club, as the 'default' indicator is No and only a percentage of people actively choose to change it. It would be safer to assume that everyone who has chosen to change the indica...
