Re: Weird indicator issue

Hi, If they're coming on but not flashing (solid) then I'd suspect the Flasher Can. https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwjgy5Sl0ZD9AhWkYuYKHXJ1AowYABALGgJkZw&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESbOD2OQmcduoOFnVPVKayJ4EcrP9rWRFQaCNZKZqyTKurlUXZ-IkhlPXXa4c0Qs1ry6MjnNnu1kW9y...

Re: Longer grease nipples on prop shaft

Hi, I'm not sure what you mean by 'assembled the UJ's wrong', if you've fitted them successfully and they swivel then surely they must be okay? However, the short grease nipples on the prop can be a bit hard to get the gun nozzle to latch onto, I have had the same issue in the past with MM props, s...

Tiger Seal would do the job but you might have difficulty stripping it back off, if you ever wanted to. Best wishes, Mike. https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwjEtZTHsI39AhWBnu0KHbwVBDYYABAJGgJkZw&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESbOD21z051R9CRhq1FtAh_f46JtDVKistIkEUk2...

Re: 2 MOT or not 2 MOT

Well, you learn something every day. I've never seen any evidence of them on my cars (past or present) and didn't even realise they existed.
I space my battery away with sections of rubber matting.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Hi,
Out of curiosity, I had a look for some old pictures of Dragon Garage but the image below is all I could find on the internet.
White City Roundabout, Old Trafford, Manchester 1960.jpg
Maybe someone on here has a better image that they can upload?
Best wishes,

Re: Period Correct Paint Colour?

Hi, If you're only interested in future value then you're right, originality is everything. If you've bought the car because you're an enthusiast, love Morris Minors and want to drive and enjoy it until the day you drop, then it's your car and you should paint it whatever colour you like. That said...

Re: 2 MOT or not 2 MOT

The point is, I think, that both issues, the broken rear spring and the battery problem, should have been obvious to the respective owners and if not then God help them. Quite possibly literally in case of the owner who thinks it's quite safe to link both sides of the battery with a clamp...... :ro...

Is it the colour shown in the pictures in this post? https://board.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?p=648375#p648375 If so, schroll back up the to the post from 'philthehill', as he gives a link to some available from Frost. Further down the post there are other examples, if the first colour isn't what yo...

A bit like the fact that Jaguar jumped from the Mark V straight to the Mark VII...... :-?
So as potential purchasers would not get it confused with the Bentley Mark VI......

Re: Sills

Hi, Below are some repair sections from ESM for the L/H side, the R/H side are the same price, so just double it. As above, you will need to get a few quotes to find out exactly what you need and an idea of what the labour charges will be. If you have to buy floor panels then it gets expensive, so ...

Re: Starter Motor Failure?

And herein lies one of the advantages of choosing a Morris Minor, accessibility. I once had a starter motor fail while I was parked in my (formerly) local Tesco's car park. So no access to ramps or anything like that. But heh, no need, with a new spare to hand (after a 15 minute walk home, locate /...

Re: Limited Mileage Insurance requires annual MOT?

I think it would be safe to name the insurance companies involved on here. It would only become a problem if someone then vented any frustrations they have with them by slagging them off in a reply on this forum. So perhaps name them for the benefit of members, so they can check out how they might ...

Re: Limited Mileage Insurance requires annual MOT?

Would be interesting to know which companies those Grumpy21 mentioned were... but it might count as naming and shaming. Agreed value should mean just that, otherwise what's the point in having it. If it is conditional with some companies then they should openly stipulate those conditions in writing...

Re: Registration origins

A lot of people have had great fun from their registration numbers though - transferring them from car to car over many years. It is just harmless fun and has gone on for about 120 years! It may have started as 'harmless fun' back in the day but these days I suspect it is more done to make a quick ...

Re: Registration origins

I had a look out of curiosity, MED 429 is the closest I could find and priced at £4153, which I can then assume is about what I'd have to pay to get Sally's original registration back  I wish they'd never allowed plates to be transferable, then we wouldn't have this issue. Best wishes, Mike.
