Speaking as a former customer, they have some competent enough welders. I wish I could say the same of their fitters and of the communications between customer and workshop. £13000 for a full rebuild :o well if I was stupidly rich... I wouldn't call that excessive provided the job is done properly !!!

How many Minors?

Does anyone know roughly how many of the 1.6 million Minors built are still being used (Or are in the process of being restored)?

"Status" is a funny thing! I think it's fair to say that most owners of Morris Minors own them because they want the car for its own sake. In my case, I wanted a regular car that I could maintain myself. Contemporary cars no longer allow me to do so. Added to this, as my annual mileage is ...

I have some reservations about free tax (That it could be used as a reason to restrict usage) but since we have it, lets have a level playing field. If anyone has ever read the FBHVC newsletter, there is always some form of legislation flying around aimed, ostensibly, at "Old bangers". The...

More online petitions for extension of free road tax.

There are two more petitions aimed at extending entitlement to free road tax. See http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/classiccars/ & http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/ClassicRoadTax/ . The first one does not have long to run whilst the second one has until January 2008. On present form, the government shows no ...

Driving Me Crazy

Oddly enough when I chose to buy a Traveller I had toyed with the idea of a SWB "Series" Land Rover (My garage door has just enough height to get one in!). At the time I had a need do some slightly heavier towing but on balance, that need did not outweigh the benefit of greater fuel econom...

Driving me crazy

(If someone does a lot of towing etc and runs, for example a Land Rover, I would not refer to them as a Chelsea Tractor driver!).
I didn't say there weren't genuine reasons for using them. My main point was aimed at the programme.

Driving Me Crazy

I just had a look in the TV listings and the programme doesn't seem to be on this week! Surely they haven't run out of "Square pegs" to condemn. Maybe the producer has been reading this forum?

Driving me crazy.

My father (Aged 69) watched the programme and mentioned that the presenter (Of the over 70s programme) wasn't driving very well! Clearly he wasn't the only one to notice.

Driving Me Crazy TV Programme.

There is currently a series on TV called Driving Me Crazy. I saw the first programme aimed at the drivers of 4 wheel drive vans (Whoops should that be cars). Whilst I agree that some of the so called Chelsea Tractor drivers are rather vain, they are no more vain than any other fashion concious perso...
