clutch compatability.

I bought a job lot of spares recently that included some of the small dia flywheels and clutches to suit the earlier 1000s. My car us a 1098 so they're no use to me. Does anyone know if they're the same as mini 1000's? My friends got one and I wondered if they'd be any good to him.
Thanks.

Re: Synthetic oil

I've never seen synthetic 20/50 so I'm afraid it's likely to be the wrong grade.
Maybe you could phone them first to enquire and then drive it back in to them when they can confirm they've got the correct 20/50 mineral oil & filter to put in?

Does it jump forward & stall (sticking clutch), or just peter out which maybe low tickover?
What's the symptoms?

Re: Breather question.

The idea of drilling and tapping the inlet manifold is a little scary.
How does the pcv work? Would there be any advantage to fitting one inline between the bean tin/rocker cover and carb/air filter?
Thanks.

Re: Breather question.

As I don't have the right bits for a pcv type would it be an advantage to make sure my bean tin and hose are clear and also fit a rocker cover with a breather connected to the bean tin hose with a t-piece so that both the bean tin and rocker cover vent back into the air intake?
Thanks.

Breather question.

My old 1968 minor had a breather pipe from the rocker cover to the air filter. The 1966 saloon I have now doesn't have a pipe from the rocker cover, just a bean tin shaped object on the side of the engine with a pipe coming off it to the air filter. Should it have a breather from the rocker cover to...

You're putting me off to be honest, I think I might have a go at repairing the original headlining in the car :o

Re: Carpet colour question.

That's great thankyou. I'll go for the light blue carpets then. It's fitted with shabby dark blue ones at present.

Carpet colour question.

Hi.
My 1966 saloon is smoke grey (pale blue), the seats are light blue. What colour should the carpet be? Dark blue or light blue?
Is it important to have underlay fitted underneath the carpets? At the moment there isn't any.
Thanks.
Neil.

Which headlining?

I wasn't planning to change my headlining as frankly the idea of doing it terrifies me! But it really is pretty tatty and if I'm ever going to do it it'd be easier while all my windows are still out. Can anyone recommend which headlining to buy? ESM & Bull Motif both come in around £70-80 and Ne...

That's ok, but you wont be charged to enter the grounds (where the rally is) if you're going to the rally then?

Re: National Rally 2015

Does anyone know if the rally fee payable to the club for attending the national rally covers entry costs to Scampston hall or is there an additional fee to pay on the gate to get in?
Thanks.

Re: Fiberglass!!!!

Just wondering if anyone has used fiberglass much and what are their experiences with it? I have ordered some from frost and going to paint over it with Por 15 rust protection. Want to use it for the underbody where the steel is a bit week and pealing rust. I also want to use it inside in the footw...

Re: Identifying & checking dynamo & starter

Just had a look and I have one C39 which looks in decent nick and a C40 which looks a bit ropey, but I've not tested either of them yet.
Are all starter motors the same?

Re: Identifying & checking dynamo & starter

Great stuff, thanks. Did the starters and dynamos change over the years, or do they all fit and work on a 1098?

Identifying & checking dynamo & starter

I recently bought a job lot of Morris bits, among them is a couple of dynamos, starter motors and a few wiper motors. The chap said they were from an earlier Minor & mines a 1966 1098 saloon. I know some had clap hand wipers, but did the starter motors & dynamos change & how can I tell i...
