Re: Petrol and diesel ban by 2040
I notice that the powers that be never mention all the big buildings in towns and cities that use heating oil, they must contribute a fair bit towards pollution. The heavy air caused by fumes is usually in the colder months when the heating is on. They should be converted to electricity and the poll...

Re: Brakes....yet again.....front pattern cylinders
Nickol. I don't know if this is relevant but you did say that taking the vac pipe off the servo did not make any difference to the brakes. Every vehicle I have driven that had a brake servo fitted has very hard to operate brakes when the engine is not running i.e. no vacuum. The brakes will work but...

Re: MIG Welder
As I said I have the 135 and to test it I made a butt weld with 1mm steel and once dressed you could not find the join. You will have to use a gas mix of Argon/Co2 for thin steel and 6 or 8mm wire. You should be able to weld up to 2.5mm steel using it but with Co2 only gas and 8mm wire.

Re: MIG Welder
I can weld and have the Clarke 135TE and even being used to industrial type welding sets it is good enough for me. The 151TE is the same but more amps, not needed if you are just welding cars.

Re: TV advertising
My wife and I have turned it into a game, to try and guess what the advert is for before the end of it. Trouble is we can't always guess what the ad is for even after it has finished. We are guessing the lead question about the advert is you get a pair of pyjamas with every car

I don't think the spark plugs are the problem I think it's the carbs being a bit loose.

For that head you need a HS4 carb, you won't get satisfactory results with the carb you have fitted.

Re: Alta and MM porn?
I had trouble bleeding a m/cycle calliper and found that when it was in situ the air would not naturally find it's way to the top by the bleed nipple. The answer was to remove the calliper and place it in a position that would allow the air to settle to the top by the bleed nipple, with a block of w...

Re: Brake Lining & Drums
Before replacing the drums get some rough emery cloth and using a circular motion score the surface the shoes rub on, this will help the shoes bed in and flat the rubbing surface. No need to go mad you just need to score it up a bit. The braking action will soon smooth the surface again.

Try a treatment called chemical castration after all most of us use some form of chemicals in the garden at some time or the other, might at least make it wilt a bit

The afore mentioned protective film helps guard against this but I will admit I have not tried boots. I wonder if you need one or both boots
