Re: No Ignition System Power?
Hi if you have a circuit meter can you check for any current following the green wire from the ignition switch ?, I had somthing similar once and it was due to a poor connection, have a look at the electrical diagram at the top of this section of the message board, there may be a bullet connection t...

Re: Painting Engine - Primer to Use ?
I cleaned the bay ,keyed the existing paint with some glasspaper, cleaned over this with carb cleaner and then used the green paint straight from the tin, this was last year and so far so good, most painting work is in the preparation, can only assume some contamination led to the intial peeling-hop...

Re: Interior light question
I think you will find you can use the sliding switch by the bulb to have it on all of the time rather than to turn it off, I had a similar problem when I took out the glove box and disturbed the wire and had pulled it out of the bullet connector

Re: Additives?
I too worried about this when I first got my Morris nearly 5 years ago,I did use the valvemaster additive a few times at first but having looked at the number of additives on the market at various pricesand listening to the excellent advice on here I made the decision to set the exhaust valves as BM...

don`t try this at home
Been preparing my Morris for the MOT test, had not used it for two weeks and unusually it did not start first time but fired and died, knew something was "different" but could not put my finger on it. started checking cap, leads points, spark plugs and convinced myself I needed to clean an...

Re: cutting window in car cover
my stormforce cover has been used for the last 4 years, have had a couple of small rips but it certainly has not disintegrated, i think they are well worth the money, as an idea could you not use a clear laminated pouch and Velcro this on to the cover? that way you would not need to cut anything in t...

Re: Car cover for 4 door morris
I have also used the "stormforce" cover for the last 3 years. I have found it works well but you need to be careful, they can rip if caught on a sharp edge, then they will let in water , I have had two small tares in mine, one by the bonnet area one over the roof,in spite of repairs i have...

Re: I Gave Up Smoking 3 Months Ago Now Need a Cig Socket.
I fitted one of these and they are worth the effort, I used a Draper unit with 3 outlets and a good length of coiled wire attached ,method I used as follows to a negative earth car, note, there are many threads telling you how to convert from positive to negative if necessary. Basically first disconn...

Re: Towing a small Trailer
I also fitted a manufactured Watling model, this came complete with all instructions for fitting and wiring, you need to drill two addtional holes in the floor and remove the rear bumper/valance to fit and then re attach this item to secure. For the electrics I used scotch locks supplied with the ki...

Hi and Welcome Lovely looking car,I hope you have lots of fun with it. The 155`s should be fine, couple of points that may help, if you have an orginal handbook the tyre pressure quoted will be for the older type crossplys, many threads have been on here debating the tyre pressure you need with radi...

Re: WINDSCREEN WASHOUT
I had a similar issue with mine prior to the recent MOT, I found using a small pin to clear the jets worked for me, from what I understand the flow of water is there as you have a jet working on the drivers side so that would indicate the pump is working so I would look at a blockage regarding the p...

Re: Tow bar troubles
I fitted a similar tow bar to my Minor, its well worth the effort, what others have suggested makes sense, I would guess someone may have previously tried to remove the nut in the past , depending on your toolkit you may find some stilsons too large to get into the gap between the bumper and the nut...

Thanks for the replies, as always there is someone on here who can help, I did not realise the torque was so low , IslipMinor as per your quote"Wheel nut torque is 45-50 lbf" I too normally tightened in the past just using the wheelbrace my reason for asking was the fitter was going to use...
