Re: Sprite wheels

The wheels on the blue Minor are the same as my rear wheels, however I'm beginning to think I was actully sold A40 wheels on the front as they don't have those round hole's to adjust the brakes, if so would 155 tyres be safe as I don't have tube's fitted.

Re: Sprite wheels

Sprite wheels

I have got standard Sprite wheels on the front of my Minor and wider wheels but with the same rivits that hold the hubcaps on the rear, had a shock when I tried fitting the Minor hubcaps on :o too big........ Genuine Sprite caps are expensive, any one know of any other hubcaps that will fit, old min...

Re: Engine runs on etc

I believe after the rebore it's 1130cc, new plugs Denso W20EP-U and double checked the firing order, okay I will undo the jet more and see happens then check the valve gaps again, another thing I did notice there is a lot exhaust pressure from the tail pipe for such a small engine.

Engine runs on etc

I think it's time to call for advice :-? I've got my rebuild engine running now with HS4 SU carb, AAA needle in and twelve flats out adjustment on the jet as recommended. Engine has a Mini timing cover with damper pulley, cylinder head could be off a 998 Mini A plus engine as it's red , high C/R ?. ...

I've got clearance now just not quite enough at the very top, I don't want to strip the door again :( but if I have to I will.

window frame

I have seen the post with the front door problem with uneven gap, solved by ajusting the window frame, I've got exactly the same trouble with my four door car, enough space for a new door seal until it comes to the window frame area.
Can I ajust my four door car the same way.

Re: Gap around top of door

Sorry to jump into this conversation but I've got the same problem but with my four door Minor, half inch gap around (no seal) until the window frame starts and then tapers off to nothing, undone the three bolts at the end but still ridged.

Re: Water not circulating

I always ran the engine with the cap off, bubbles were reluctant to come out without a little squeezing of the bottom hose, it's a new radiator and so I'm assuming it can't be blocked. If it's still the same after finishing the filler pipe on the top hose I will change too a better pump as suggested.

Re: Water not circulating

Yes I did call it a expansion tank and I think the correct name is header tank, this is from a Ford Fiesta and the little yellow plug I believe is a high pressure blow off valve. Job's done today........ fitted an 8mm copper tube to the top hose and changed the other fitting comming from the tank to...

Re: Water not circulating

Yes your right heater / bottom hose,I guess I wasn't thinking just thought it would easier to plumb it in there, the only pressure cap is on the expansion thank, first photo.

Water not circulating

The original Minor radiator which came with my car was beyond repair, got a brand new Escort rad for a snip at £20, so preceded to fit that along with an expansion tank and made up fittings (difficult :x ). However the water is refusing to circulate, stays in the head and will boil if I let it, thin...

At the moment I've got toe out with the track rod ends showing ten threads each suggesting the steering arms are a bit to short.

Toe in problem

Bought a recondition steering rack a couple of years ago but as my car has taken so long to repair I've only just got to the stage of setting the toe in, my problem is I can't reduce the toe in to the 2.5mm specified, best is about 10+mm difference!. my car has got spacers on the eye bolts (two 1/8 ...
