Hi Phil, just as an aside, what is the exact legnth of the front axle wheel bearing spacer please. I am in the process of building up a spare set of uprights and may make my own spacers up.

You will need to keep the 75 or 80 profile tyre or you will lose speed. When you are at an indicated 60 mph on your speedo ( assuming it is reading correctly) you will only be doing 54 mph!!

A mini spares RC40 pair of silencers does the trick for me. The smaller silencer goes on to the 3 branch under the passenger floor.

I used to have a muff like that fitted but an 88deg. thermo sorted it out and I havn't had any problems so far. I did forget to open the muff up once and arrived in Hull with water coming out of the rad. overflow when I stopped!!

Engine out is definitely the easiest, and if the gear box has to come out as well you only have to take the floor up and undo the propshaft and mounts etc. then lift it out by hand. I am 80 next year and can still manage it out in a day with out too much trouble.

The collars should be still and rotate with the 1/2 shaft. When you put the brake drum on they should tighten up. make sure the surface of the collars(sleeve) is clean and polished. sometimes the old seal goes hard and damages the surface where the seal runs.
