Re: KFL 126G

Hi Katie You could obtain the details of previous owners from the DVLA, there is a special form they have to request this info and they charge - was £5 the last time I did it. Sometimes they don't have much info, it depends on what the local authority handed over to them when the records were cental...

Re: Crash repair and advice

Sorry, I have only just seen your post: I have seen several cars where the car has been distorted in this area - it is a major part of the structure and given that experience, I always look at a car there now - espeially if I'm considering buying it. However- all the cars have been repaired sucessfu...

Re: Crash repair and advice

Hi, I've heard Autobodies in Lavant are very good (on the same estate as Steve Forman) Apparently thye are crash repairers with a particular interest in Classics. You could also speak to Pitt Lane in Winchester who have a very well equipped premises. They gave me a quote for my traveller recently wh...

Re: convertables

I've had two genuine convertibles which both had holes for the courtesy light switches, 1966 & 1969 cars. Check there's no spot weld marks in the underside of the rear shelf over the back seat (i.e. view from the boot of the car looking up) If there are, it once had a roof!

I seem to recall that the chap who was featured in Minor Matters sold it ages ago, probably to the person who's selling it now..

As afar as I am aware that's true. It's certainly what I heard some years ago. Maybe Ray Newell, Andrew Dyer or a respresentative of the Million Register can confirm?

It's 40 years ago today..

That saloon production at Cowley ended.I thought that our own rememberance day should be marked on the club website. The beginning of production often seems to be mentioned within club circles but the end is rarely marked. Not sure why. Next April also means the same for the Traveller..We know of th...

Re: Winchester Morris Garage 1966

It was probably Wessex Motors in St Cross Road which subsequently became Henlys. Henly's closed around 1984 - Wadham's were in Easton Lane which subsequently became Tilbury's. They also had a site in City Road which, strangely enough, has been demolished this week! Tilbury's took over as the sole Au...

Re: History of VUK 128 H

Hi, You can obtain the history by contacting the DVLA - they charge £5 the last time I did it in 2009. You also have to complete one of their forms - explaining why you want the info - I just said it was for personal use. They work from the registraition mark. There is, of course, always a chance th...

Re: Whats your mileage?

My traveller's done 300,249 miles to be precise! Third engine (fitted 2009: 5k miles so far), still running its original gearbox and diff was rebuilt at 282k. It had 107k on it in May 1984 when I bought it and went through 200k in May 1992 a few days before the MOT trip to Ribeauville.
