Driving my old Yugo (45a, the one with no servo) where braking was a 'book in advance' procedure and involved me putting all of my weight onto the pedal... ...rounded a corner on a single track road near my mum's house at a sedate 30mph (it's 60 limit), espied the mud coating the surface (it's in be...

Just being picky but if it's SORN'd then it shouldn't be on the public road even parked up should it? Well, you are allowed to take it to-and-from a prebooked MOT and I believe to and from a place of repair. You would, of course, not be parked anywhere...unless your car broke down en-route to the p...

I have to say I've never seen the problem with sticking EP90 as the manual states. Granted I forked out a fiver for a second (not particularly good quality) grease-gun which gets used for this one job (EP90 in gun, 10 squirts, EP90 back in container, wipe down outside of gun, stick back in bin-bag i...

Looks fantastic, but I second what Andy said. Seriously, don't spray 2 pack with one of those masks. Not unless you like hospital visits.

improper leaks etc
As opposed to the many proper leaks found on a correctly maintained minor* ;)

* Mind, nothing compared to my MZ which likes to drip 2 stroke on the drive when it's sunny.

I had a broken leaf in one spring and the car developed terrible clutch judder. Because of where it was it wasn't visible with the car sat on the ground, or up on ramps. It was only when I jacked the car up to do something else I saw the failed spring....

Skinny tyres

I recall some people rather wanted 135R14s, and Vredstein has apparently agreed a deal with the DCN to run off a batch of them (for DAFs which take this size as well).... I'm not in the DCN but to quote from the Daf forum: The latest copy of the DCN's magazine "Variomatic" landed on the ma...

Aye, I suppose I forget, but I naturally do drop back to overtake. I tend to look at the traffic ahead a lot, too. It's all about knowing what's coming up.

I know when I'm tired, because I don't.... (Driving home after night shifts springs to mind).

See, I never had any great problems overtaking in the mog. Yeah, you definately need to know what it'll do before going and pulling out on a single carriage way, 60 limit... but most of the time I found her nippier than my mum's old 205 (1 litre). Drop a gear and go... ...mind, my 1098 was a very ni...

Really? I thought the trav seat base was the same as the 2 door minor.

The four door rear seat is entirely different to the two door, that I do know... :)

My old golf's handbrake wasn't great and I did once find the car resting against the car behind. Thankfully there was no damage, but I was more careful about hill parking after that. ...And twice now, since moving the bikes and cars around the drive I've nudged the footpegs on the bike with the fron...

Ray - that's probably what I'll end up doing; just wondered if the rumor was true - and where I could get one from. Looks like they do exist, just no one knows where they come from :-/

Is it a rumour?

I heard once that pick-ups, late ones, had external locking door handles on the passenger side. Is that just a rumour or is it actually true?

Without looking or knowing anything about it, is it a sintered bearing? My (desk) fan has one of them with a little wick oiler.

Oooh, ooh, door mirrors!

*breathes*

I could do with a pair of Door Mirrors, not for my minor (she sports wing mirrors) but for my DAF, if they're still going :)

Love the cheezy grin - and without the decals, the lime green is more fun :)
