Re: MM Lowlight outer waist seal

Interesting - so why doesn't my March 1951 Series MM have the bottom of door channels?
More to the point, what does the OP mean by his missing seals?

George.

The notifications have stopped for me too - all the ones I should have had today (about 5) never happened.

Re: MM Lowlight outer waist seal

Hello John, It was proving too difficult to photograph the underside of the 1951 doors (Highlight Series MM), but they do NOT have the door bottom channel for pulling in a rubber seal, which seals against the sloping face of the sill kick-plate. However, the Series II spare doors I have, do have thi...

Re: New owner.

Welcome to the Forum. Rose Taupe is a lovely colour. My first ever Saloon was that colour and it was a 1964 model.
Sadly, I don't have it any more, but I do have a number of other examples (see sig pic).
Enjoy the car, George.

Re: MM Lowlight outer waist seal

Hi, I have a Lowlight, but it is currently fitted with a pair of much newer doors, which do have a "gutter" in the underneath of the door to fit a rubber strip - is this what you are referring to? I also have a Series MM Highlight, with original doors, and I can go and photograph all the p...

Re: Hi newbie here with inherited 59 4 door morris

Hi and welcome. Your bonnet has the earlier type of motifs on it, which were also used on the vans (your bonnet may well be from a van). Going by the screen wiper arm layout, it appears to be a transitional car - these were changed to Tandem Wiping by about 1963/4 (I could be wrong on dates). If you...

Re: Insurance

Thank you, re the lowlight. That is the number it was given when re-imported back from Belgium, in March 1960 (on my 9th birthday!).
It was then converted to RHD, but not that well - it is still a running project.

Re: Insurance

Hello Castle Rock, Are you an MMOC member? If so, did you tell FJ that you are, as they apply discounts to members. All mine are unlimited mileage, additional named driver, UK and European Recovery, agreed values, salvage retention rights, shows & events etc. etc. If the total renewal cost is di...

Most Brokers charge for their services and often this is shown as "administrative charges" - you can't expect them to do all this stuff for you for free, do you?

Re: Insurance

Hello Grumpy, I've just renewed my classic car insurance (with Footman James) for 4 moggies. Three are agreed values and the latest project is market value. I have salvage retention rights (additional £15/annum) and full roadside & recovery (also unlimited mileage). Last year the premium for all...

Sudden Flurry of 7 year old Notifications

Anyone know what is going on?

I haven't had regular updates on any of my watched topics for ages and, suddenly, I get a spate of ones relating to posts last made 7 YEARS ago! :(

Hi, your initial comment about the needle being stuck in the rest position - I've got 2 early dashboard cars (and a spare instrument cluster) and have found that the needle actually embeds itself on the rest post! It looks as if it chops its way in. If you look very closely, you may find a fine &quo...

Or rather spotted on the morning of October 12th, on my way to the Dentists. A pristine condition 1959 Traveller that I had never seen in my local area before. Is taxed and MOT'ed (rare). I have lifted a couple of frames from my Nextbase Dashcam to show the car - taken at the junction of Sandy Lane ...

What can be done about this lethargy on the forum?
I have an aversion to things like FaceBook, so wouldn't want to use it - social media? No security.

Re: Stopped getting notifications

Hello Mike, How long is a piece of string? We are now 7 months down the line from your last post and nothing has happened. I'm still not getting notifications and haven't heard anything about migration to a new platform. Is the MMOC Forum dying a death? Is there any point in staying a member? In the...
