Re: Minor Badge Bar - what type to fit?
After the Brooklands event, I came home and finally drilled some holes (painted the bare metal after) in my front bumper valance and fitted my Badge Bar. The gap towards the right is for fitting the "period" spotlight I bought (on Fleabay).[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1363164...

Re: Silted up water channels in Engine Block
David, good to have met you, yesterday and thanks for these pictures. I can confirm that the exit hose on the heater now runs warm to hot, so it looks like the airlock has shifted.

Re: Silted up water channels in Engine Block
Well, here it is fitted, with the new M6 hex-head bolts (cut down to correct length) that I had to drive 4 miles to get from a very traditional "iron-mongers" - one of the very last family run businesses.[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1362775094_17825 [/frame] Note the straight...

Re: Silted up water channels in Engine Block
BMC, it turns. Just checked on the ESM website and their "long impellor" pump is for 1098 and 1275 engines. I've currently got a 1098 fitted and the pump was obtained from Camberley Autofactors, but with M6 pulley/fan mounting holes. Just been on the phone to ESM and their pumps have UNF t...

Re: Silted up water channels in Engine Block
Straight bypass hose. Cast Iron s/h pump was fitted with "dry" gasket, but this leaked. New pump with incorrect tapped hole sizes, fitted with the "replacement" for Blue Hylomar, as I didn't want to have to deal with any more leaks. New pump has greater "depth" in the r...

Re: Silted up water channels in Engine Block
As I want to get the car to the Brooklands Museum Austin/Morris day this Sunday, I decided to attack the sludge/silt problem again. I drained the system (not the block plug however), refilled with water and added the Coolant Flush can (not drain cleaner strength). Ran the engine for the presciribed ...

Re: Main Beam Indicator in Speedo
It gets worse. Thought I'd have a quick look before going to work. Uncovered the car, popped the bonnet, reconnected the battery, wiped down the wires (with Sainsburys own surface wipe cloths). Wire colours all look the same - dirty beige, no tracer, outer covering is cotton. Swapped over the leads ...

Re: Main Beam Indicator in Speedo
Thanks every one. I'll have to take the car cover off in daylight and clean up the wires (things are still a bit oily/dirty under the bonnet, in places) and check the colour codes. I do remember seeing double bullet connectors in that area. Pretty soon, I hope to have all the "little niggly bit...

Re: Main Beam Indicator in Speedo
Using the floor mounted dip switch, when the beams are down and to the left (when trained on my garage door), the H/B red "and slightly mottle black" light in the top right-hand-side of the speedometer comes on. When the dip switch is pressed again, the speedo H/B light goes out and the he...

Main Beam Indicator in Speedo
Hello Folks, so far, I've only driven my '56 SII Traveller in daylight, but when I was doing a lights check a couple of weekends ago, I noticed that the H/B light comes on when the headlamps are dipped and goes off when on Main Beam - I thought my dips were a bit bright! I'm using original spec pref...

Re: 2013 rally condition class entrants hints and tips
Louise, thanks very much for the links, downloaded and printed already. I have a question - I'll be bringing my Series II Traveller, but it currently doesn't have an 803cc engine, do I still put a Cross in the box against "Series II (803)" ? It also currently has a much newer registration ...

Re: Police Car photo on Facebook......
Brick bridge - the old bridge did have a "railing", it was just the "end" of the bridge that was in brick, if you look very closely at the first photo posted up.

Re: Core plug replacement--- sealant?
I'm interested in this, as I will have to take the core plugs out to clear out the silt I have in my engine. How do you do take them out? Katy says to drill a hole - but they are not that accessible when engine is still fitted in car. The last time I had a core plug out was when my Series V saloon e...

Re: Replacement Jacking Point
Thanks folks. I do have the correct single pillar jack for the model of car, late Series II, (in its original "tool roll") and I also have another hand crank one that only fits the jacking point socket when upside down. I haven't even attempted to use the pillar one as it looks very unsafe...

Replacement Jacking Point
Hello Folks, the Traveller I have had its undersides replaced in about 2000 and this included a new cross member with replacement jacking points. One of the "crank" jacks I have does not fit it and the orange "A" frame ones would also not fit it, as the jacking point hole shape i...

Louise, you're a saviour. I've now stripped the "airbag" and have found the additional cellophane bag with the bar, long stud and nut. Thanks, George.[frame][/frame]

Re: MORRIS CENTENARY BADGE ON eBAY
Update - I received my MMOC Centenary Grill Badge today but, alas, it didn't come with a fitting bolt and bar :( Should it have had? Front and back views follow - the flash has made the bright areas "dark".[frame] http://mmoc.org.uk/mbimage.php?src=1361479210_17825 [/frame][frame] http://m...
