Andrew polished up the chrome, most of it came up as passable. We have also now removed the glass and trim and cut the lower bodyside behind the door away which revealed the ususal corrosion and dodgy patches, there is a bit of rust around one of the rear quarter windows, but otherwise no great new ...

and the sill, from the other resorations I have seen this looks pretty normal, interestingly the inner sill seems to have a wax coating and has hardly any rot, the jacking point fell off just after this!.[frame]Image[/frame]

some photos, firstly the engine compartment, the inner wings are rustyalong the top edges and around the bump stop but seem repairable.[frame]Image[/frame]

Started stripping down today, floors look pretty good, there are patches over the centre x member and in the rear corners which I will cut out and redo otherwise they are sound, the A pillars look fine on the outside but have obviously rusted inside so will need removing and re building, inner sills...

Looking at the pictures it has a dynamo, I have 2 or 3 17ACR alternators around, I assume they are what is normally used? What about brackets do I need parts from a midget or are there other sources which will do?. For the brakes I would rather keep them standard so this is the way we will go strip ...

Well I have bought a minor, unseen from ebay, I know I should have looked at it but simply did not have the time (busy finishing the garage to put it in). It is a 69 two door in white, it appears to be 100 complete and I paid £460 for it, I figured I will probably need to replace all the usual rust ...

It has a mildly warmed over 2.25 petrol running on LPG

(9:1 Compression ratio, cleaned out ports, unleaded valve seats, 1.75" su, free flowing exhaust and distributor-less mapped ignition)
