Indeed. Although I imagine a Dremel or similar might make an easier job of it than an angle grinder...

Re: Traveller Restoration

I was wondering how jagnut intended removing just the lens part from a sealed beam headlamp! :-?

It can be done:

Re: smoothcase/ribbed gearbox

Indeed. I can only assume that your larger 1380cc engine's extra torque and your 5-speed gearbox may have some bearing on the driveability in traffic and clutch action...

Re: smoothcase/ribbed gearbox

Ah yes, but is this on a track-day/race car? I found that when I first fitted my Midget engine/clutch with the standard linkage, it had a rather sharp action, making driving in heavy traffic something of a chore. It also wore out the linkages quite rapidly, in fact, it left me stranded in London one...

Re: smoothcase/ribbed gearbox

The clutch fork unbolts, and you can swap in the standard Minor item. I wouldn't recommend using the standard linkage though; the Midget diaghragm clutch is very heavy to operate, and will give a snatchy on/off action, and wear out the linkage bushes quickly - far better to fit a hydraulic actuation...

Re: This seller needs help sorting out a problem!

It would appear to be another post-1962 car, with the later heater, wipers, front indicators, etc. Probably quite an early 'transition' car though, as the dashboard switches are the earlier pull type. I've never seen a Minor's handbrake lever go that high before! :o Also, the rear valence appears to...

Re: This seller needs help sorting out a problem!

I note the offside boot door check strap has an extra reinforcing bracket added to the door - quite a good idea, as they seem to frequently work loose.

Re: This seller needs help sorting out a problem!

Interestingly, if you zoom in on the first pic, the back window is clearly etched with a suffixed (F-reg?) number-plate that doesn't match the car's!

Re: This seller needs help sorting out a problem!

Comes up on DVLA as a 1959, yet clearly has post 1962 features such as the 1098cc engine, heater, wipers, front indicators, etc. :-?

Strange also, that it appears to be in overall good condition apart from the front roof! :o

If you need more advice regarding your front suspension, you could ask this guy who appears to have the same setup:

Re: Trunnion Replacement

It does indeed seem a bit at odds to have 'race-spec' suspension and Goodridge braided brake hoses, yet still retain the stock drum brakes! :-?

I guess the previous owner cared more about speed and handling than they did about being able to stop quickly...

Re: Trunnion Replacement

Heya guys, I attempted the trunnion change tonight but I was thwarted!! I got the drums off unscrewed the backplate, but I could not get the grease dust cap off from the center of the wheel. The backplate is stopping me from spinning the trunnion and I can't move it till the cap is off. I tried usi...
