On a film about minors: I just saw the short documentary on minors that is on the young members website, and how good is that?!
A great way to spend 20 minutes if you haven't seen it.

Re: Drivers door handle removal
I replaced all the lock barrels in my two door some time ago. I managed to get both front door handle assemblies out (and back in) without removing the window channels - just unbolted them and slid them up & across. It did take ALOT of wiggling and bad language though, so I would remove the chan...

Yes, I agree! I though FTLOC was great! I was talking about the other programme when I was complaining... And darn, I missed the episode with the triumph stag. Work bloody late shifts...

Re: For the Love of Cars
I presume you're refering to the chap on the channel 5 programme? Our family gave up on that half way through the last programe, despite the fiat 500 being a favourite, because of the 'drama' some television producers clearly see the need to cram into their programs.

Re: Best biscuit for Dry Consumption and Dunking!
Fact learned from QI:
Biscuits go soft when stale, cakes go hard.
Mcvitie proved that jaffa cakes were indeed a cake by baking a giant, full-cake-sized jaffa cake, and showing what happened to it when it went stale.

Re: Jacks.
One thing I've been wondering is how you would jack the back wheel off the ground for emergency tyre change, where is the strongest place to do it for a 2 door saloon? Would it be the same place as in those ^ photos?
Many thanks
Many thanks

Re: 2 black plugs
Seems like no2 is having a problem! Can try a wet test by putting a squirt of oil into the cylinder through the spark plug hole to see if it's the rings or valves.

Re: Ford Capri wheels on a minor?!
Cracking, cheers. It'll be the case of upgrading (in this order); wheels, front suspension, rear suspension, brakes, interior, engine, THEN axle! (then box, unless a cheap type 9 turns up hehe). Pictures and a thread on Lola #'s upgrades will appear once I start to work on her.

Re: Ford Capri wheels on a minor?!
Cheers bmc, and i know that, I just couldn't be writing full specs yet, 'cos I don't know yet.hehee.. But the engine will be the last thing to get changed, after suspension, wheels brakes, and interior. I know it's side tracking: What sortof power is the standard moggy axle capable of handling comfo...

Re: Ford Capri wheels on a minor?!
Ha, at the moment, everything is standard bmc, so 1098cc. I'm going to start proper work on the car in august when I take a month off work, and the plan is to go with a 1275, with a reasonably ported head, slightly exciting cam etc... Nothing too wild, just going to be pushing for 90 bhp... Is every...

Re: Ford Capri wheels on a minor?!
chesney - because more is always better! I would have thought wider wheels would give yet more grip, no? I'm quite keen on the look of the jlh widened wings, so if i need to use them i'm not complaining... But maybe i'll go 5.5s all round if you guys think that's the way to go? Just with wider tyres...

Re: Ford Capri wheels on a minor?!
Right on. I think i'm going to just bite the bullet and go for some wellers, the morris minor ones... I'm hoping they'll make me some slightly wider than 5.5" for the backs... I'll ring 'em when I don't have work
Thanks for the advise!

Re: Ford Capri wheels on a minor?!
so if you fit wheels that have a negative offset and fit spacers that would be ok?
