battery terminal cup connectors

i want to put in my morris a pair of the cup connectors that connect the terminals. I had these on my wolseley 1500 and i really liked them, but finding a pair now if proving to be elusive. Anyone know where i can buy a new set OR if they have a spare set i could buy? I have attached a picture of wh...

Re: Glove box lid clips

You know, that sounds entirely plausible as all I have to go on is the two doors I bought, each with a roller clip on the top and a hole where they should go. So I assumed that they had to have a corresponding clip on the car, which I simply didn’t have.

How did you attach it at the front end?

Re: Glove box lid clips

Mine has the chrome surround and it does have a clip on it, but I would of thought that they would have a corresponding clip just underneath the top lip of the glovebox hole.

Glove box lid clips

I’m reinstating the inset style glove box lids to my car, but it appears I am missing the little clip that’s fixed inside the glove box at the top. I’ve looked around and it appears they are either like hens teeth or people a just bolstering prices to say that. I saw a pair on eBay for £45, which to...

Re: Convertible sill strengthening

The roof line above the window is also something that has got me thinking.
Have people taken the roof back to the bar above the window or as pictured, left an inch or two of the actual roof?

Convertible sill strengthening

In the future I am going to whip off the roof of my moggy and naturally I’ll need to reinforce the sills. For this I have bought the proper sill reinforcement panels from esm and to get everything right, I need to know there exact placement. So, does anyone have any photos, diagrams or past experien...

Re: Metal thickness

Well, after reading all the very helpful posts, it’s obvious that I’m out of my depth so I’ve gripped the bull motif by the wing mirrors and enrolled on an 8 week (Thursday evenings) welding course. But if a hike every Thursday, but I know it will be worth it

Re: Metal thickness

A mog welder would certainly be a good and appropriate welder, but I fear that my dyslexic fingers have made a typo, so it was meant to be a mig welder.

As for tin plated electrodes,I’ve never heard of one of those either.

Re: Metal thickness

Having had a bit of a think and done some research over the past few days, I’ve decided that a mog welder for the thin stuff I’ve got to weld would be an easier way than blowing holes in everything with gas. As I sold my mig welder last year (typical) I am going in invest in a new one. Which brings ...

Re: Circular heater

Right, switch has been opened and cleaned out thoroughly and works like a charm.
One slight concern though, is it meant to get hot or at least warm to the touch? The switch that is, the heater is expected to get warm.

Re: Glove boxes

Well I’ve just bought a set of glove box lids for the princely sum of £20. One is missing part of a hinge, but that’s relatively sortable.

Roll over jigs

I’ve had an idea about roll over jigs. We all know they are very useful and also hideously expensive. So why doesn’t the club invest in a basic one and run a loan scheme. So members pay a deposit, can use the jig for however long, but not silly lengths of time and then it’s either returned to the sp...

Re: Metal thickness

Humm, I had a feeling that too much heat would be a thing. Tbh as it’s the floor and I’m not too bothered about it being slightly rippled. I’m slightly loathed to get a mig welder as I was never really any good with it, though I’ve never tried TIG welding so that may be an option, though the oxyacet...

Re: Metal thickness

Thanks for the advice. I was planning to use replacement panels and just use sheet steel for the odd little bit here and there. As for the actual welding, I am getting quite good with oxyacetylene and I had intended to use that for the welding. As brazing isn’t allowed on the car, would it be recomm...

Metal thickness

I am just about to start a lot of welding on my minor but I am still to buy the metal I’ll be using.
What thickness of steel should I use?
