Re: austin 6cwt van converted to pickup

Just spotted this post. I believe van and pickup chassis are the same, but to satisfy yourself I suggest you double-check with one of the usual suppliers. ESM stock replacement chassis so maybe give them a call...? http://www.morrisminorspares.com/body-inc-panels-trim-c21/van-pick-up-panels-parts-c4...

Re: Water into numberplate lamp body.

Obvious question perhaps... are the lens and cover seating properly in the groove of the rubber base seal? Mine has a replacement (plastic) cover and the shape is just slightly 'off' hence it doesn't fit the groove all the way around.

Well I know nothing about buses particularly, though I do like old ones that invoke childhood memories..... , but the info board with the green one was thus (sorry about the rain on it!) : 20180922_151714.jpg Been with the same private owner for 43 years! Re: Spotted today.

Several months ago I heard about the father of a near neighbour who owned a convertible Moggie, allegedly 'in pieces' in the garage. A few weeks back I posted this pic of a 1963 Smoke Grey convertible at a show. 20180827_163638.jpg Saw the car again today, with my neighbour's father behind the wheel...

Re: Spotted today.

Nice buses GB. The green trolleybus is probably an AEC 664/T. Built for many years. London Transport purchased hundreds of them between 1936 and 1939, then more between 1948 and 1950. The London trolleybus fleet only lasted until spring 1962. By coincidence, I saw this bus outside Kidderminster Town...

Might be worth calling the club office. They may have something knocking about in the store room.

Re: Series II boot badge position.

If you're using a later boot lid on your series II, but want to fit the correct boot badge, how do you know where to drill the holes? Does anyone happen to know how far down the boot badge is from the top of the boot? Any series II owners fancy popping into the garage with a measuring tape? :) Many...

I'll do a measure-up in the morning unless someone else beats me to it. Not venturing across to the garage in this evening's monsoon conditions! I presume you're fitting the chrome ornament with the reflector incorporated?

Re: Newbie, Fiat TC & Volumex HFO 501 NEW BUILD 2018

BMC tweed grey was a mini colour, looks good with raw carbon and black Tweed grey. Pretty popular Austin colour. Used widely across their passenger car and light commercial ranges from 1955-ish onwards. I had a two-tone '58 Tweed grey / Court grey A55 Mk.1 Cambridge for several years. My mate (slig...

Mixed opinions regarding silicone hoses. I used standard hoses from David Manners on mine. I don't do a high mileage. They're holding up well so far :)

The OP posted this query in the Concours Forum section last month. Somebody replied with the info provided by Sid but unfortunately it was a dead end as it appeared the company had ceased trading. As the message board has a relatively low number of regular users, perhaps a short letter to the club m...

Re: Hoses query

To my mind it makes sense to replace both top and bottom radiator hoses. They're pretty inexpensive and easy enough to change. I did both of mine last year after finding a pin-hole in the bottom hose. The bottom hose is extremely easy to replace... a five minute job. The top hose is just as easy. I ...

I'm pretty certain I saw this car in New Malden (Surrey) about 4 years ago. It was parked in a driveway along with two other Minors, near Coombe High School.

Probably cold comfort but I've been a registered forum user for just over two years and I've never received any notifications, except on receipt of a private message, or if a post I've made has been quoted in a subsequent post. As far as I'm aware my settings and preferences are all correct (not gua...

Well done to both you and Mrs Westy for rescuing those kittens and giving them a caring home. No animal deserves the treatment they'd had to endure! I won't dwell on your collision woes except to say that the damage in your pic suggests considerable speed but the location suggests car park, not out ...

Re: 338 UXS - 1956 Split Screen 2 door saloon

If you want to keep to originality it's maybe worth remembering that split-screen rear wings are different (larger wheel arch cut-outs) and very hard to find. Later wings will still fit though. Black always looks good on a Minor (OK I'm biased :D ). So does Clarendon Grey. Both go nicely with a red ...

The car looks absolutely superb. You must be dead chuffed.

I'm still blown away by your garage space. How many cars can it accommodate?
