Re: wood retreatment advice
Yesterday I have lightly flatted down the wood on my Traveller using a fine sandpaper and I have refreshed the wood using 2 coats of Cuprinol. I must admit that when I first looked at the wood it didn't look as though it needed treating, however as it was 2 years since I had replaced the wood ,I deci...

Re: Insurance
It sounds like you have a result Les as it is always a pain changing insurance companies, although I use go compare and my details are saved on the go compare platform for all of my cars which makes it easier when renewing.

Re: ignition problems developed
I love the electrical side if things on cars and it is something that interests me greatly.
I will certainly check the other wires as a matter of course because we sometimes forget how old our cars are I think.

Re: ignition problems developed
Sorry I've Checked 12v at coil and continuity on Lt lead. Today I've followed on by checked wiring from ignition switch to coil and there apears to be a break in the wiring because when I wiggle the wires, I get an intermittent reading on my multimeter. I've run a new wire from the switch to the coi...

Re: ignition problems developed
Well I've now replaced the coil and electronic ignition with new Accuspark parts and still no spark.
I've also swapped from my running Traveller the Dizzy cap and leads, rotor arm new spark plugs and I'm at a dead end again

Re: ignition problems developed
Yes Ive tried the coil from my other Minor and it is still the same so Ive ordered a coil and electronic kit from Accuspark as I feel that this is probably needed now after carrying out the tests.I will report back once fitted.
Many thanks

Re: ignition problems developed
I've moved the coil to the inner wing previously so the option is probably a replacement coil, matching to a new electronic ignition unit.

Well I drove Morris on friday and thew car was running rough and misfiring so I went back home, looked under the bonnet and saw a spark at the top of my ignition coil. I have since tried to start the car with no joy and further investigation shows no spark at the plugs as well as a crack on the coil ...

Re: wood retreatment advice
Its interesting regarding the wire wool as I was going to use this to sand down so I wont now, I will buy some of the light grade abranet thank you. I used cuprinol on my new wood a couple of years ago so I may stick with this. Would it be a case of light sanding of the wood, mask up and then rebrush...

Re: Anyone running 165/70 tyres with Van rims?
Hi Colin, I have 165 70 on both my Traveller and my Convertible, these are fitted onto banded wheels and the handling is great.
I do find that both speedometers are 8 mph out which I keep in mind with speed cameras.

Re: Convertible - covering the rear rail?
Hi Pete, My convertible is also a converted saloon and I made a rear shelf when I replaced the hood frame about 3 years ago. The shelf was originally board, foam and then vinyl covered which I reproduced. The rear section that you have highlighted has the wooden piece fitted on mine as a filler secti...
