I would get the new ones, I broke the top leaf of a spring that was well settled coming off the Liverpool boat on the way to last years national rally. Thankfully we got it repaired without too much hassel. the first job I did when I got back was too replace both springs with a new set.

We had an excellent day out today! Ended up with 94 people, 40 cars, 23 of which were Minors ranging from a 1954 series 11 to lots of late travellers. In the 60ish miles we travelled in convoy the only problem was a flat wheel and no one even got lost. The weather was very kind to us, although cold ...

The Northern Ireland Branch has its first run out of the year on Easter Monday. Were having a scenic run through Co Antrim, starting in Carrickfergus, picnic stop at Lough Neagh in Antrim and evening meal in Ballygally Castle. Up to the present we have 38 cars booked. To get an age related number you normally need some more proof. I would firstly get a Heritage certificate and that will tell you date of build and despatch to the dealers, it will also have colour and trim spec that should tie in with what you have. Then, you,ll need the car inspected by a club off...

I had the springs taped up on the blue minor for a few years, then a stroppy mot man told me that it had to come off so he could check the springs. The tape definately kept the springs good and clean.

It should be stamped on the bulkhead just below were the wiring loom comes from the dashboard. Sometimes it can be hard to make out especailly if the car has been repainted.

I reckon the car was built in january 1951, the nearest chasis number change was 81501 split bumper and fillet was discontinued, 81595 highlight introduced!

The book doesnt mention other body changes, would be worth asking Sandy Hamilton as he is a mine of minor info......

I'll be at the Kilbroney show, we always have a club stand and you are welcome to join us on the day or you can book your own stand which would probably be beside us as they set the field out in alphabetically!! You'll need to prebook the rally as its more expensive to enter on the day and your not ...

I would unscrew the float and check that it hasnt stuck open. A small peice of dirt could cause the petrol to keep pumping as the pump doesnt know to stop, although dirt shouldnt get past the filter in the pump its has happened in my traveller after its been laid up for a while.

Has anyone ordered Rays new book, Morris Minor 60 years on the Road? I have ordered it from the club and am waiting on it to arrive. In the past Ive always found his books very detailed and informative.

Anyone already got it and willing to do a review!?

I recently got the original reg back for the lowlight. It had been off the road from 1973 until 1998 during that time DVLA went computerised and anything not taxed was forgotten about. What you will need is proof that this was the cars proper number, such as a tax book, old mot or tax disc. Then get...
