Re: Reducing noise in a Traveller
I put a piece of about 1" thick heavy black foam rubber all under the rear seat of mine - made a big difference. Went all over the UK in him - fine on motorway and everywhere else.

Re: Tyre advice needed
I ran my traveller on 155 Toyo's for several years and they were excellent - until I put 145 Bridgestones on. By far the best for a moggie I think

Nope. Definitely not working properly. When you click on the 'display posts from' button it doesn't matter how long you select, it still only displays the same few that appear when you first go onto that bit of the forum - so something isn't right.

Re: Cars For Sale section
Thanks for the 'how to'. That's odd because there were two - one above the other - first with no pictures because I hadn't worked out how to do that and the second post when I did put pictures on. How strange.....
Anyway, no one on here replied at all and it's sold now anyway so...

Re: Antifreeze
Distilled H2O is not a good idea - it will react over time with aluminium especially at elevated temperatures and between different metals. Distilled water is not as 'neutral' as one might think - it's not pH7.0, it's usually slightly acidic. Acids and aluminium react - hydrogen is released and the ...

I've found Monty!
Well - the magazine arrived the other day and there was a letter in it from someone who had spotted a Traveller at a DeVere hotel. I sold Monty last spring in order to buy a pre war minor and found out that he had been sold to a '...chain of hotels..' I e-miled deVere HQ and they told me he is at th...

Re: Dizzy confusion
My Traveller ran beautifully and very reliably with an Accuspark 45D. As does my Series 111 Land-rover. Very simple to fit and forget...apart from the usual lubrication etc.

Re: Stereo fuses blow – wrong rating or symptom of failing regulator?
I'd suspect some sort of short circuit if it just pops the fuse like that. Maybe a wire has chafed through the insulation and is shorting to earth?

Re: Green growth in Traveller window channels
Is it moss or algae? If it's moss you could try drying it out really well with the judicious use of a hot air gun / hair drier and then just brushing it out. If algae then you could try a proprietary algae remover. If it's kept in the dry then it won't grow things...
Re: new tyres

Re: Treating traveller wood
Osmo oil without a doubt! I scraped all the old stuff off Monty with a Skarsten scraper (no need to sand afterwards usually) and then applied two coats of Osmo oil. The clear UV protectant variety. The wood looked fantastic afterwards and water simply beads up on it. The oil allows the wood to breat...
