Morris Minor Owners Club

Have an MG flywheel with a damaged ring gear .
Where is the best place to buy one ?
Prices vary enormously ,£16 to £45 + ? Are they all made in the same place ?
Don’t want to buy a poor quality one ,to save £10 .

Putting a Morris Ital 1275 engine in a Splitscreen ,with a Ford type 9 gearbox .
Would it make the clutch too heavy, if it were up graded from a spring type ,( Morris Minor ) ,to the stronger Diaphram type . The operation is mechanical ,not hydraulic .

Have different oils available for my dash pot -
3 in 1
Straight 20 mineral oil
30 grade motorcycle fork oil
20/50 engine oil .

Which would be the best route ?

Any body had any experience with a fan, on an Ital 1275 in a minor . 6 bladed riveted steel 1275 MG ,or new 6 bladed plastic ?
Also any experience with stiffening up original shock absorbers with straight 40 oil ,as opposed to after market bolt on units . This is a road car .

Thanks for that Phil ,sure Mike is an A+ from 1980 .
Has an electric fan on at the moment ,but will a fan from an MG midget suffice ,when the lump is transferred to my 1953 split screen ? It’s for a road car ,not competition .

Surplus to requirements , Centre ribbed aluminium ,dash section with ashtray ,small repair needed .Now hard to find £25 .

Hi All ,have just bought a Morris Minor with a 1275 A+ engine installed ,Ital I think .
The engine number begins with 8HM . Anybody shed ideas on identification ?
Could it be a reconditioned unit ?
