In reality is doesn't look much worse than the one I bought, and mine came with almost a years mot!
I had to repair my guttering & roof edge & although I'm a (very) amateur welder it came out just fine.
Take your time & repair it.

Very, very sad. I always enjoyed reading Roys comments on the forum, the man was a fountain of knowledge on all things Morris & will be sadly missed.

That hellerine oil is excellent & a bottle should last for years.

How much do think you'll be wanting for the head Roy? I may well be interested.
Cheers.

Wipers, are they all rubbish?
Does anyone know of any decent quality wiper blades for a minor that actually work?
I bought some new ones, I think they came from Bull Motif, but they're appalling at actually clearing any water from the screen.
Thanks.

Re: Which Distributor do I have?
I contacted accuspark to ask them why their 45d is cheaper than the 25d & which they would recommend for my 1966 minor 1098 and they said they would recommend the 25d as it's a better distributer than the 45d.

Certainly makes the job easier, and they're not hard to remove.

I might still go back and get one from him. Which is the better head to have, the 940? What's a reasonable price nowadays?

Re: 3.9 diff question
Well, I purchased the 3.9 diff this morning, not sure when I'll get around to fitting it (I'm in no rush). If it needs it I'll do a couple of the mods mentioned to make it breath a bit better.
Having said that, the man was also selling a 295 and a 940 cylinder head for not too much money .

3.9 diff question
Hi all.
I'm sure it's probably been asked before but is a 3.9 diff a useful upgrade for a standard 1098 morris or will it struggle to pull it?
Thanks.
Neil.

Re: Knocking and bad cornering
I've got an occasional loud knock from the nearside front of my car too. Haven't spotted anything wrong yet & the mot man didn't pick anything up. I'll be interested to know what yours turns out to be.

U-bolts are what it should have. Plus gas or similar penetrating oils are better than wd40.

Re: Rocker nut thread?
Aah, that makes sense (kind of ). I couldn't relate the size of thread to anything I was familiar with. I guess 1/4 uns isn't a commonly used thread size.
I'd very much like to take you up on the offer of an adjuster & nut please Phil.
Thanks.
Neil.

Re: Rocker nut thread?
With all due respect surely a 1/4 unf thread measures 6.35mm o/d? Quite a difference from the approx. 7mm mine measure.

Re: Rocker nut thread?
Just checked & they're not 1/4" unf. The thread measures (sorry for being metric) about 7mm so not 5/16 either. And they have a small hex,
Unfortunately the thread was damaged before I got to it, all the locknuts had been done up far too tight.
