Re: This years National.

Looks like Abby was parked next to me on Saturday, Mike :-) actually I wasn't there by that stage - my good friend Mike Dean had taken the car to Kelmarsh for me so I managed to miss most of the rain:-) Not often my car has been first on the rally field :-) Sunday was excellent and congratulations t...

Later LCV's were dual badged as Austin and Morris variations - typical BL badge engineering (see Farina Morris Oxford/Austin A55 Cambridge/MG Magnette Mk4/Wolseley 15/50 & 16/50/, Riley 4/68 & 4/72 and Vanden Plas Princess 3 & 4 litre R) Austin LCV's are distinguishable by the Austin roc...

Re: Oil Change - When To Stop

Make sure car is on a flat surface. Buy a plastic measuring jug from supermarket, pour in 6.5 pints or 3.69 litres of oil through the filler cap in the rocker box. Refit filler cap. After ten minutes or so, check oil level on dip stick - should be on full mark. Job done - simples :-)

Re: A question about removing the steering wheel

Just stuck on the splines. A little WD40 and tap with a mallet from behind. Suggest you re-attach the nut a couple of turns before you tap it though so it doesn't fly off and smack you in the mouth!! :(

Re: what colour would my wheels and grille have been originally?

With an 8G engine number it is almost certainly a gold seal unit. Gold Seal (and Silver Seal) units are ones that have been back to the factory for reconditioning. The engine code does not follow the standard Minor format and, when decoded, gives a clue as to what has been done to the engine whilst ...

Re: How to bleed of brakes morris minor 1000

Sandun - you need to address the problems you have with your wheel cylinders BEFORE you start bleeding the brakes and removing the master cylinder. If the car has not been used for 6 months, the most likely cause of your problems is with the wheel cylinders. Check, free off (if possible) and (if not...

Re: Steel wheel rim straightening

Standard Minor wheels are ten a penny and very easy to find. I'm sure the best option would be to look for replacements rather than trying to straighten the ones you have. If you amend your personal details to include your location I'm sure someone on here will be willing to give you some or, at the...

Try these guys - they will provide a standard loom or modify the standard loom to your personal spec, adding in alternator circuits, hazard flashers, driving lights, accessory sockets, electric fan, radio/cd - pretty much anything really and they ship anywhere in the world. http://www.autosparks.co....

Re: 948 Gearbox mated to 1098 Engine

As you lie on the floor, looking up at the axle, feet towards the rear of the car, the number should be on the right side of the axle casing, facing the gearbox about half way up the axle. It will be about 3-6 inches from the inside U bolt. If it's not there, don't worry about it too much. This area...

Re: 948 Gearbox mated to 1098 Engine

No that's where it should be - if it's not it has probably been obscured by rust/crud/underseal.
