I once had the bumpers plated on a Triumph, and if there was even a hint of road salt about I had to wash them when I got home or they went rusty! Something missing in the process methinks

I thought that the bushes (front and rear) were originaly designed to 'flex' rather than 'slide' on or in its shaft/housing? Do these poly type bushes not flex enough then?

I have the tell tale light in the base of the stalk and it would do very similar to what you decribe and I had visions of dismantling the stalk assembly, but in the end it turned out to be a loose bulb!
Worth a look

Hi, Sounds interesting! The gains you speak about, is that just with the twin carb setup? ie no exhaust mod. I presume the manifolds are separated (by sawing?) I'd be interested in giving the old girl a bit more oomph! but as I have got a pretty new stainless exhast I would be a bit reluctant to rem...

I have just measured my old MM centre main (-020) and it would appear that the 'gap' does not increase with a regrind.
Surely it should because the thrust face must wear?

I thought that a crank regrind took the thrust faces out as well - so a .010 regrind would increase the 'gap' by .010 ?

Glovebox Clock

I have just got hold of a Smiths clock to fit in my glovebox. It wasn't sold as a Series MM clock but it is 87mm diameter and supposed to come from a 1957 Oxford and was a lot cheaper! Any how it fits the hole a treat and the dial matches the others so with some bracket mods all should be well. How ...

I used Dinitrol 3125 on all mating surfaces, then once it was all together I squirted more Dinitrol into the joins (from the top). Early days to tell if this is any good but I think it's a lot better than the original, which lasted quite well!
