Re: 59 1000 Door aperture.
1) What did you replace on the drivers side ? 2) take some measurements from fixed points. As I recall in the official workshop manual there was a triangulation chart for body repairs which gave check measurements for chassis straightness and points for taking those measurements from These will enab...

Budgie, it seems to have some sort of fold down flap on the side, a bit like a fish and chip van

Re: Diff ratios / high revving
I had this issue years ago when I put a modern diff on a 948 axle. I would fill it through the breather hole . The oil bottle had a plastic 'straw' which fitted into the breather to fill . I also adapted a paper clip to use as a dipstick so I could check the level through the breather.

Looks almost authentic, especially with the outlet painted BMC green. If it works, why change it ?

Just seen Nurse Gladys Emmanuel's White G reg, running rather rich with a clattery timing chain and a dropped OS door on Open All Hours. (Yes I know they used several white minors)

Re: Tuning
I had run on after fitting a recon'd carb and found that their was an air leak , allowing pseudo combustion to continue for a few seconds. Had the carb not been the main suspect, the PCV on the manifold would have been next as there was a possibility of the rubber diaphragm being perished. The other...

Re: A nice treat.
Love the 'get you home' tyre device. I wonder how long you could drive on it and how long it lasted, It does not look hugely robust? The driver seems to stop quite frequently as if unsure of what is happening. Nothing remotely like it on the internet - It says 'Patent Pending' on the ramp and someth...

Re: A nice treat.
The early Doctor fils were also a source of good Minor viewing - (Those with James Robertson Justice and Dirk Bogarde)
What about Minors in Fiction - Most recently Rene Airth's 'The death of Kings' where a female charger - Village Doctor obtains a hard to get Morris Minor in 1949.
Any More ??

I have cheated and blanked out the scooter specialists with a gold gel pen. It looks really good under the bonnet. What year is yours? If you pm me with an e mail address I will copy you the Cambridge Daily News articles for Oct 56 when K&H started selling the 'new' Minor 1000. There is some int...

I could waste some serious amounts of time going through these. Amazing number of Foreign Films. Best known is probably Delicatessen.
I wonder how many of the earlier films have cars which are still on the road ?

Re: A nice treat.
I and others use the 'spotted' one. If you look carefully at the film of Ice Cold In Alex supposedly set in 1943 North Africa, towards the end as rah truck, Katie sweeps around a crescent near the bar you can see three early Morris Minors rather incongruously parked up. They are either prototypes, i...
