Re: 25th September spares day
I think Mike and Simon are doing their best, I personally believe that those attending the next AGM need to throw this gauntlet at the MMOC committee and thus force them to act. Having read through this and other posts on the subject in the past, where I have expressed similar views to those voiced...

Re: 25th September spares day
Listen, you're going to wait a long long time before you see me 'letting the forum die'. There's no point in going over old ground again and again, and of course I have to be mindful of keeping committee things in confidence, but Simon and I have not stopped banging the drum for the forum when some ...

Re: 25th September spares day
It's advertised in the most recent copy of the magazine, on the website, and on the social media groups.

Re: Registering and communication.
Okay, bored now. Your accounts always worked, you forgetting passwords doesn't make it not so, and the fact that you're using one of those accounts now clearly demonstrate that. Have a nice day

Re: Registering and communication.
"So in 2019 you created a second account, and you do have login details for that. Okay, so why do you then need a *third* account?" Right, we'll try again. As I have written, my old, from many years ago, accounts (olonas, 57traveller) no longer worked for whatever reason. Both those accou...

Re: Registering and communication.
I was a member who used to frequent this forum years ago and those log in details are long gone. Okay, so let's call that 'Account 1'. However, I did manage to find some details from a couple of years ago (May 2019) when i was able to re-register. Hence I'm in a position to post this! So in ...

Re: Registering and communication.
There is an ongoing issue in relation to the automatic emails from the board being rejected by email hosts as spam, because our mailserver has some incorrect records which 'fail' automatic tests run to try to detect spam. As Simon says, some of those are resolved and hopefully that permits those mai...

Board failures
We are aware that the message board has been on and offline a number of times over the weekend, and could only be used while logged out (attempts to log in resulted in an error). The external company that the MMOC uses to look after this board have been asked for an explanation but not replied as ye...

Re: Cars For Sale bit
I used to take it very personally when people criticised the way we did things but I'm a bit more sanguine now. We simply can't be all things to all men (that's man as in species rather than gender, before anyone bridles). I'm not advocating targeting the 'low hanging fruit' so to speak, because the...

Re: Cars For Sale bit
I've been debating how best to answer this for a few days and still not come up with something I'm satisfied with, so I'm just going to go with the following. I, and to a greater extent Simon, have been banging the drum for the forum for an incredibly long time, against not inconsiderable opposition...

Re: 'Smart' motorways
But how 'Smart' is it to create or buy something which you can't control and which could easily send you hurtling to your doom, with no way to either intervene or in any way have a chance of moderating and / or altering the outcome ...... You could always try switching it off and switching it back ...

Re: Auto insurance price hikes to be banned
To be honest, I don't think classic insurers are the real villians in this instance. I mean yes, I've no doubt it occurs, but I think 'mainstream' insurance is the big boy in this scam.

Re: 'Smart' motorways
There's another article in the paper today (apologies for the source, it's the only paper I saw that covered the story today) on this issue with a couple of statements from the AA which really get to the heart of how feelings are running high https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9597981/Now-AA-s...
