Re: 2speed switch
You need a 2-speed wiper motor. Unlike typical heater motors that can be switched in series with an external resistor to vary the speed, wiper motors have two sets of internal windings. There are 2-speed wiper kits available that come with the motor, switch and matching wiring harness.

Re: Can’t get my daughters car to start
Yes, the choke does operate the fast idle cam to slightly open the butterfly, but the description:
does not reflect what happens. The mystery deepens.when the knob is pulled out fully the butterfly closes properly so the mechanic says we’ll actually get full choke

That's a very good point. Elaine, can you please post a photo of your engine bay. It is possible that the cart has a none standard carb.

I have not used it, nor heard anything about it. It sounds too good to be true - I'm intrigued to learn that it's 200% elastic!

Re: Traveller Rear Wings
Wings for a Traveller and a saloon are not interchangeable. Also, saloon wings varied between early and late cars, so Lane9 needs to check the year of his/her car when purchasing replcement parts.

Re: dual circuit brakes
I understand the desire for dual circuit - I once had a single circuit Mini where one of the link/transfer pipes on the front wheel failed resulting in first a loss of pressure and then loss of fluid. I drove home carefully using the handbrake, but it would have been better with the other circuit st...

Re: Door Alignment
As the top of the door does not appear to be out, I fear that it will be more complicated than just the striker plate. Another reason for the door to stick out could be incorrect sill alignment and/or fitment of the kick plate (cover plate), or an excessively thick draught excluder. Worst case is po...

Re: Planning a long trip
In terms of sympathetic modifications without making a modern car... Check the car thoroughly for the structure and repair/replace as necessary. Fit poly bushes instead of rubber for all suspension. For the colder climates, use an uprated heater and heated front and rear screens - these are a vital ...

Re: Modifications section gone awol?
It has NOT been removed, but if it's missing then I'm at a loss to explain why. However, I will investigate and see if I can track it down and get it back in the fold. Can you just confirm, do you mean the Custom and Modified Register or are you thinking of another forum? Any pointers to the exact s...

Re: Can’t get my daughters car to start
Presumably he was trying to make himself look a complete [insert your choice of term here] and he succeeded. If he wanted to learn and Chloe told him, then he should have listened. To then say he had to go and leave Chloe with the problem is just adding insult. If his daughter is really that thick, ...

Re: sudden engine failure 1098
Copper every time. Hopefully you did not run the engine after the problem appeared. If stopped straight away, then likely the only damage is the gasket. Prolonged running can result in damage to the surfaces of the head and/or block - make sure that you check both with a straight edge.

Re: mini heater and heated rear window
Picking up on whether you already have a mini heater... The standard minor heater has a single speed fan and a vertically operating flap lever. The mini heater has two speed fan and horizontal flap l;ever, but it is possible to convert that to the standard Minor front plate. The Minor heater uses 1/...

Re: Damaged radiator
I wonder whether the original blade broke as a result of hitting the radiator or hit the radiator as a result of breaking? I have seen fan blades suffer from metal fatigue and crack at the base of the blade. The act of trying to draw air in would then force the blade out and it could strike the radi...
