Hi Rob, I'm sure I have one about, but it will have wear as they were only aluminium but I am willing to post it up to you so you can get dimensions to make a new one if you like? I also have some glovebox catches that have had new buttons fitted as I had a batch of Stainless one's made as there is ...

Yes thank you very much :) Thought it may be better being asked face to face rather than over the internet!

Lowlight on Car and Classic advertised as a 1953 but no body moulding so definitely a genuine Lowlight!

No e-mail notification of PM's

I haven't been getting any notifications by e-mail when I get a PM.
I have checked my settings and all seems OK but I am obviously missing something!
Can anyone help please?

Re: 5-speed gearbox

I have a Ford box too, and its a worthwhile upgrade and I think the Toyota boxes are very hard to get hold of now so for long term spares Ford would be the recommended route for sure :D
Never driven with a Toyota box, but the Ford one makes it a totally different car in a good way!

I think the Dutch CKD cars were stamped on the front shock absorber mounting so you may have to remove them to see it?

Re: DOORS

It sounds to me as if it is the rear doors on a 4 door that are being removed as the front doors only have 7 bolts to the body and the rears have 8 and do slot into the pillar and can be a swine to get in and out!!

Re: Horn wire in steering

That wire is only a few inches long and is attached to a brass "slip ring" just below the steering wheel. This in turn has a contact on the indicator switch that the wiring then runs through. If it is ok on a bit of a lock I would say you just need to clean the contact faces on the slip ri...

Re: Lucas L482 rear lamps

Why would Lucas produce red lenses and then paint white lenses red? As explained earlier, to use them as a reflector. My car is certainly not original but most of the additions are period or useful I love some of the mods you have done to your car Mike and am not against any of them or questioning ...

Re: Lucas L482 rear lamps

OK how's this for a theory? In the days of shortages and rationing, rather than thowing away the redundant clear lenses they were painted red and sold with the newly required n/s tail lamp units. I believe that in NZ the original lights are still legal, there are photos of Phil Clement's car with a...
