Hi.
Does anyone know if the late 1000 rear light lenses are handed or if they're both the same?
Thanks.
Neil.

Re: Torn window rubber
Just to update, took the rear screen out again yesterday & refitted with the rubber from Baines. After leaving the rubber in a bucket of hot water for 10 minutes it went in a treat with my other half & our lad pushing from the inside & me pulling the cord. And no tears :D . Also while th...

Brilliant job. Hopefully I'll see my minor back on the road this summer, although it wont be as shiny as yours.

Re: Fitting seatbelt
I do see what you're saying but bicycles were first intended for use on the road in a very different and slower era, even before cars were invented and yet almost every family in the country allows there child to go out cycling, even encourages it.

Re: Fitting seatbelt
I agree with mrIan, as long as a decent set of belts is bolted in securely I wouldn't dream of denying my children the pleasure of a ride in the Morris. When we first got the car it had no rear belts & they were very disappointed when I said I was going to fit belts for them to wear. I would nev...

Re: Torn window rubber
Ok, new seal ordered. This time from Baines to see if it goes on any better. A friend came round this afternoon and between us we managed to fit the front chrome windscreen trim too. Successful weekend

Torn window rubber
After a year or two of lack of interest when my Morris has sat under a cover waiting for me to put her back together I've finally regained my enthusiasm & got stuck back in, she's going to be on the road this summer. Today with the help of my 16 yr old lad we put the glass back in, theres still ...

Fuel filler question
Hi all. I've just refitted the fuel tank to my Morris now all the welding is out of the way. I put a new rubber seal on the filler neck but I'm not sure if it goes in side or outside the body? I put it on the filler tube first and when pushed in it leaves 3/4 of the rubber seal on the outside so I'm...

Fuel pump differences
Hi.
Can anyone tell me the difference between su pumps aua66 and aua25? Which is the right one for a 1098 Minor?
Thanks.
Neil.

Re: 1967 number plate
I'm sure that although the reflective white/yellow plates were introduced in 1968 they were optional until 1973 and only from Jan 1973 black/silver plates can no longer be used?

Re: Oil filter housing query
Hi Phil.
Thanks for that, I've just measured the depth of my oil filter mounting though and it's 74mm deep so allowing for the width of the nut/washer and the bit that screws into the block I'm guessing they should be about 100mm long?

Oil filter housing query
Hi. I know it's the opposite of what most people do, but my Morris came fitted with spin on oil filter conversion and I want to convert it back to the original replaceable element type. I've got an original housing etc but I believe the mounting studs to the engine are a different length. Can anyone...

My last morris was fitted with discs & no servo.
I took them off and fitted standard 8" drums and they were an improvement

Re: Rust spots
Clean it back to bare metal with an abrasive, kill the rust with Jenolite or kurust or similar and then a decent anti rusting primer & paint. Sounds long winded but its a quick job really.

Testing fuel pump
Hi all. I've just picked up an original SU fuel pump, obviously before fitting it or putting it in the boot for a spare I want to test it. I touched the base to one battery terminal and the stud at the top to the other (with a length of wire) and it just gives one click. Is that correct or should it...

That's right it's just held in with screws, although they can sometimes be a bit of a pain to get undone.

Re: New here with a tech question - Brake & Clutch Pedal
Hi & welcome.
Yes, one pivots on a sleeve on the others shaft. Squirting some lube in there and working it a bit should get it moving freely again. If I remember correctly though you have to just remove the transmission tunnel (under the carpet) to get access to them.
