I usually fit stainless steel bleed nipples, guaranteed not to corrode themselves in and it's not as soft as brass.
I don't know if you can get them in imperial sizes to fit the Morris though.
What size thread are morris bleed nipples?

Kingpin question.
Hi.
Just a quick question.
I know the earlier cars had 7" front brakes & later were 8", but are the kingpins & trunnions the same for all models?
Thanks.
Neil.

Re: electronic ignition
And does it fit straight on in place of the old 25D & use the same leads etc?

Re: electronic ignition
I've been thinking about these. I think my car's fitted with a 25D at present, if I bought an electronic distributor should I still go for a 45D?

Re: Window seal strips
Do you just put the touch glass type on the outside and an original felt type on the inside?

Window seal strips
Which is the best type of front side window sealing strips to fit? The original felt type or the modern rubber touch glass type?
I imagine the modern type keep water out of the door better, but does that matter as long as the drain holes aren't blocked?
Thanks.
Neil.

Re: Which boot seal?
Thanks chaps. I'll try one of the early type push on seals that goes on the body then to see if that's any better.

Which boot seal?
Hi chaps. I know my 1966 saloon should have the wide self adhesive boot seal that sticks to the bootlid and I fitted a new one of these last summer when I bought the car, but it's leaking again already. Is the earlier strip type that pushes onto the boot aperture any better? I presume it'd fit ok bu...

What to put in steering rack
I'm soon going to put a new steering rack gaiter on my Morris as one of mine has fell to bits & it looks very dry inside. Once I've replaced it how much oil should I put in the rack? I know normally you only put a few strokes of the grease gun (filled with ep90), but with the damaged gaiter will...

Re: Quarterlight query
The frames & quarterlights are out the car and dismantled at the moment. It's the large pivot pin in the base of one of the quarterlights that's loose in the quarterlight itself, would this be a problem? Also before I fit the stainless units to the car, is it a good idea to replace all the rubbe...

Quarterlight query
Hi. I've just bought a set of stainless window frames & quarterlights for my 2 door saloon and I've noticed that on one of them the large diameter pivot pin on the bottom of the quarterlight is a loose fit and wobbles about a little. Does this matter in use? And if so is it possible to tighten i...

Re: Well thought out by the dvla!
You can do it online.
It's just the idea of having to apply for something that costs nothing, you don't receive anything and if you don't they fine you for not bothering (or forgetting now there's no disc to remind you).

So just a run of seam sealer around the lip would be ok then.

Well thought out by the dvla!
As is now well known tax discs are a thing of the past (sadly). But it does seem a little ridiculous that we still have to apply for them for classic machines. Yesterday I received the tax renewal for my 1947 AJS, Obviously it's free as it's a historic vehicle but on the renewal it states I can rene...

Petrol tank fitting
Hi all.
I'll hopefully soon be starting to put my Morris back together. I've had the fuel tank out while I did the welding, when I put it back should it be sat on a gasket or seal of any kind? When I took it out it appeared to be stuck in with a bead of seam sealer or similar.
Thanks.

Door top frame replacement
The area around the quarterlight windows on my 2 door saloon is rusty & scruffy. I quite fancy fitting a pair of the stainless door top frames and quarterlights from a traveller. How hard a job is it to remove my window frames and replace them and line it all up again? Is it possible to do it wi...

Thanks for the replies, once the Morris is back on the road I think I'll buy one of the new su pumps for her.

Seat interchangeability query
Hi. The front seats in my 1966 2 door don't have any forwards/backwards adjustment so I guess they're both passenger seats. I've bought a pair of seats which I think are series 2 seats. They have a different pattern on the vinyl, both seats have forwards/backwards adjusters and they have a solid one...

Fuel pump query
Hi all. My Morris is fitted with an electronic fuel pump of unknown origin. To make it serviceable & hopefully reliable (and because I miss the ticking noise!), I'm considering fitting it with a new SU pump, are the ones that you buy new now as good quality/reliable as the originals and servicea...
