I'm pretty sure chassis-cabs were available. I might have seen them in the Skilletter book, and I think they came with or without the cab back panel.

And the result is? I would worry about 'chrome aftermarket wheelnuts' in case they are actually metric as used on modern cars. Or maybe they were meant for a Mini? Mini wheelnuts have a 30 degree taper, the Minor uses a 60 degree taper, as does the Marina. Perhaps the previous owner had some nuts l...

If the 'Type E' gearbox you are referring to is a Ford box, then it was designed to work with a 1000tpm speedo. The correct reading is obtained by swapping the speedo drive gears.
