Re: This Europe referendum malarkey

I'm still undecided. I've never been a fan of the EU, in my opinion we should have left 25-30 years ago. The problem is I believe that we may be too far into it now, and an exit may be too much of a gamble. I just wish that someone from either side of the argument could actually produce some facts s...

Re: Pick ups with wooden backs

I'm pretty sure chassis-cabs were available. I might have seen them in the Skilletter book, and I think they came with or without the cab back panel.

Re: This Europe referendum malarkey

I'm also in the 'undecided' camp. I think it'll be almost impossible for the electorate to make an informed decision on this, as we're not being given any facts. All we're getting is scaremongering from BOTH sides. I would suggest that we should take the 'anti-old-car' legislation out of the equatio...

The trick was to get hold of an Allegro rear seat. Might be worth looking on eBay?

Re: Wheel nuts for Marina wheels

And the result is? I would worry about 'chrome aftermarket wheelnuts' in case they are actually metric as used on modern cars. Or maybe they were meant for a Mini? Mini wheelnuts have a 30 degree taper, the Minor uses a 60 degree taper, as does the Marina. Perhaps the previous owner had some nuts l...

Re: So!

The management at work love all this managementspeak. When they talk about 'solutionizing' things being 'rolled out' and 'put in place', but mainly things being 'played out in the theatre of the workplace', I stick my hand up and ask:- "What's the risk factor on that? Can you quantify it?"...

Re: Speedo is miles out

If the 'Type E' gearbox you are referring to is a Ford box, then it was designed to work with a 1000tpm speedo. The correct reading is obtained by swapping the speedo drive gears. These are still available from Burton Power. I suggest you contact them and they should be able to advise which ones you...

I would try replacing the spring in the relief valve and see if that improves matters.

Re: morris minor london to brighton run

I don't think it was 'state interference' as such. More likely that the council saw this as a 'nice little earner' and used Minor enthusiasts to subsidise the locals' council tax bills.

He's threatening to sue the Beeb if they sack him. However, most employers would sack someone if they assaulted a co-worker, so if he actually DID punch the guy, I don't fancy his chances much.............
