Re: Replace wiper motor for 2speed.

a further possibility is to install a Lucas 2-speed wiper washer switch from a rover. Does not look to bad in the dashboard and you can connect a washer pump too.

Re: gearbox crossmenber attachment

it´s done. the used 1098 gearbox is in and working. It was a long way. Two month ran by because i only can work with good weather and on weekend. I had all done twice because of an assembly-paler the clips holding the clutch release bearing got damaged on the first test. All new bolts fitted in the ...

Re: Seat foam replacement

sorry, can not give any advise. I replaced the "old" straps, better then nothing. Might be better with new ones. When i first changed from straps to rubber diaphragm i was surprised about the comfort, and thought this is the best. But one year later i am something disappointed over the lif...

Re: Seat foam replacement

about one year later with a 90 kg driver it looks like this. 2 retaining holes peeled off, 2 others will do next time....

now replaced with the old seat straps. Fist i was surprised about the comfort, but it did not take a long time in my case.

Re: gearbox crossmenber attachment

thanks for your tips
will try to get the suitable thread taps and screws.
I agree with you that there should not be metric threads. And no one should fit wrong sized screws.
I have no problem with metric screw and nut fixings as a replacement

Re: gearbox crossmenber attachment

Re: gearbox crossmenber attachment

a little update. Removed the front with radiator. Then removed engine with smooth case gearbox with a motor crane without removing the gearbox crossmember. Went out smooth. Fixed the 1098 gearbox to the engine and tried to install both with the gearbox crossmember installed. No change. Gave up in th...

Re: gearbox crossmenber attachment

thanks again for your posts What's interesting is there are no holes I can see, almost like the bolts on that side were for effect only thats what i am wondering about too. But the crossmember is only hold by the 4 screws (in my case no screws, looks more like bolts with nuts). If it was fake only, ...

Re: fitting rear window

one of my manuals says put the rubber on the window. Put a string in the nut round the rubber where it should fit the window frame. Place the window from inside the car with the string showing to outside and let it hold by a assistant. pull the string fron outside to lift the flange of the rubber se...
