i found 3 types of rocker cover gaskets the original cork gasket, a rubber gasket and a silicone gasket. Does anyone have experiences with the rubber or silicone rocker cover gasket? The cork gasket should be known.... sorry i dont find the link to the rubber gasket.... here a link to a silicone gas...

a further possibility is to install a Lucas 2-speed wiper washer switch from a rover. Does not look to bad in the dashboard and you can connect a washer pump too.

about one year later with a 90 kg driver it looks like this. 2 retaining holes peeled off, 2 others will do next time....

now replaced with the old seat straps. Fist i was surprised about the comfort, but it did not take a long time in my case.

I agree with you that there should not be metric threads. And no one should fit wrong sized screws.
I have no problem with metric screw and nut fixings as a replacement
