Re: XPL59G

It could potentially be in a museum somewhere or private collection as a remote chance - I was watching an old (90's) TV program the other day, it had a vintage 1920/30's Bentley sports car on it - DVLA have no record of the plate on it, but I find it very hard to believe it got scrapped :D (not sa...

Re: Wipers

Sounds to me like the motor is struggling.
Either as Stephen suggests, the Motor & Gearbox needs a good overhaul, or you've not assembled it all correctly and something is a bit stiff/binding.

Re: XPL59G

Don't expect anything from this. As you've probably seen, using the DVLA Vehicle Check site, it's been un-taxed since 1/3/2005, but with a last V5C issued 2007, so it's been 'off the books' for 17 years. Almost certainly scrapped many years ago, before they tightened up on scrap yards not doing the ...

I've got one of these: https://www.screwfix.com/p/nebo-inspector-500-rechargeable-led-light-graphite-250lm/830jp It's a rechargeable, but the same manufacturer have a range of LED lamps starting from £10. This one for example scores 4.8/5, from 170+ reviews: https://www.screwfix.com/p/nebo-lil-larry...

Re: Number plate light

So it turns out it was a blown fuse. Inline fuse under the voltage regulator. Is it ok to rewire this for a newer blade style fuse holder? That inline fuse is for far more than the Number Plate Light, it's all the side lights and the panel lights too. You probably ruptured it while fiddling with th...

Re: Remote battery isolator

Nothing wrong with an internal isolator, however I have one fitted to a battery terminal under the bonnet. I’m sure if I had a problem, I’d be under the bonnet pretty quick ! However if there was a fire, wouldn’t it be like bolting the door after the horse had bolted ? An electrical fire i.e. a bur...

Re: Brakes

I may have discribed the problem a little confusing. Regardless of who's driving with the servo connected the brakes are quite violent when pressed. I thought the servo would just ease the peddle, a bit more like a modern car. So there's no way of making them assisted. would I be better removing th...

We sincerely apologize for the delay in supplying you with a replacement Fuelpecker fuel card. As mentioned previous...

Re: Fuel pump identification

Yes it's a Hardi Pump.
As Stephen said, when it's busted it can't be User Serviced.
SU Pumps used brackets like that in some other cars, including Mini and MGs.

Re: Official Workshop Manuals

The Workshop Manual is still available in print as an actual book. Typically around £35, it also comes up second hand on ebay. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/386757544889 At least there's less chance of any leaves being missing than when you buy a old ring binder version that's been in use for decades. ...

There is another consideration for use of an Isolator. Despite certain issues with some aspects of the Club's FB Group, I seem to have built a reasonable reputation for reliable and helpful advice is certain subjects. As a result, I sometimes get Messenger Requests for off FB advice. Some of these I...

Re: Army Parts List Book

Brings back memories of when I worked as an equipment examiner for R.E.M.E. in the late 1970s. The military Minor 1000 parts list was essential as the Minor traveller was the staff car being used at the time. All parts were ordered using the military part number and only very occasionally were the ...

I have concerns about those remotely operated devices. Too many unanswered questions about the design. How are they operated? Are they reliable? What's to prevent it suddenly cutting power while driving down the road/motorway? This image is a different one from the one you illustrated, but it provid...

Re: Car Pneumatic Triple Air Bag Jack Trolley 3Ton 6600lbs

It's going to need a compressor with a reservoir on it; you couldn't just use a portable tyre pump, I imagine it'd take ages to get that much volume at the required 100psi or so using just a pump.
