Re: Impossible to stop water leak
I've just been out and tested mine as well as I could in the garage using a hand operated spray bottle. I put about a litre of water quite rapidly on to the joint where the glass meets the B post, which had been leaking very similarly to yours, and (fingers crossed) none seems to be finding its way ...

Re: Impossible to stop water leak
Keep posting, please. I've an identical problem - I've drilled the extra hole and filled the B post joint with silicone (which I normally don't allow anywhere near the car). But, being impatient, I fitted the capping and panels without testing again. Having read this I think I'll have to take a few ...

Re: 155 tyres
That's extremely helpful, thanks all. Sounds like it's going to be Nankangs, then!

155 tyres
About to fit new tyres to my traveller which has been off the road for ten years. Going by the advice on here I intended to fit 145/80 R14 Bridgestones, but I'm staggered how much the price has gone up over the last couple of years - cheapest now £98 + fitting. I can get 155 Nankangs for £44 each pl...
Re: Sunvisors
Sorry, don't look at this every day. I would snap the new ones up too, and the clips are still available if you want them. PM me if you do.
Re: Sunvisors
I went mad and bought new ones when I fitted new headlining. Looks very nice indeed, but bl**dy expensive. So good luck with the restorations! I replaced the plastic clips, but today found that due to slow restoration and failing memory I'd bought the same clips twice. So - I can offer one (possibly...

Re: Forum Activity
I've been restoring my Traveller for 11 years, just putting the final touches to the interior. This started as an overoptimistic purchase of what was meant to be a daily runabout, based on a foolish belief that having changed a cylinder head fifty years ago I knew something about Minors 🥺 Thanks ent...

Re: Spotted today.
No photo, sorry, but nice Trafalgar Blue saloon went past me at Aire de la Baie de la Somme yesterday, sporting an MOT plaque on the front. Seen at Eurotunnel later by others in my family (we were travelling in different vehicles, neither of them my Traveller unfortunately!)

Re: Question on Traveller Frame Assembly
Was this the photo you were looking for?
Regarding the front brackets, the Ray Newell/Steve Foreman book says "they should be removed and discarded. These brackets serve no useful purpose, unless the complete wood frame is being assembled off the car, as it would have been at the factory."

Beautiful looking job, well done. I rather regret not having my Traveller restoration professionally sprayed in 2k, instead of struggling with a diy celly job.

Mike,
Sorry that you've been treated in this way and can understand your decision. Thanks for what you've done.
I don't suppose the aggrieved member feels like standing up and explaining their side of the story?

Possibly the most comprehensive, and inspirational, thread on Traveller restoration was some years back by Neil MG https://www.mmoc.org.uk/MessageBoard/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=48882&hilit=just+another Settle down for a lot of reading! (I do hope threads like this survive the changes planned for...

Perfect, and sound advice. Well done!
Love to see more pics - interior, engine bay etc, even if it makes me even more jealous....

Don't do what I did a couple of years ago. I bought an NOS diaphragm, which when I inspected the packaging turned out to have sat on a shelf somewhere since 1964! Possibly not E10 resistant....
I did get a refund!

Licences issued before 1 January 1997 If you passed your car test before 1 January 1997 you’re usually allowed to drive a vehicle and trailer combination up to 8,250kg MAM. View your driving licence information to check. You’re also allowed to drive a minibus with a trailer over 750kg MAM. [/quote]...

Re: Quarterlight rubbers leaking
Thanks. I've already done the spray investigation, and virtually all the penetration is between the rubber and the quarterlight frame forward of the pivot. So I do think I'll end up sealing with something at that point, although I'd rather avoid silicone as there's still some paintwork rectification...

Is this the answer? Is icing sugar and marzipan a suitable sealant?
