Identification Locations!

Post by POMMReg »

Could someone post a diagram of where Minor ID numbers are located(?)

Perhaps a "Sticky" (whatever that is).

Something similar to that posted by Qwerty on the "red engine" query -
but including Series MMs and body number plate locations.

Thanks
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

Sounds like a great idea I was contemplating requesting something similar myself but had no Idea where it should go.
But to make it easier I will post up the pictures that I put on the engine query here, still missing body number plate location and MM's but it is a start:

Well, that is very interesting,I never knew they stamped into the floor as well. I did hear once that the chassis on Minor LCV's,also had a stamped number. I have yet to see one.
Still longing for an Eaton Twin splitter. But,life goes on with the automatic Swedish thing.
Good weekend looming at Milton Keynes, lots of lovely Minor LCV'S.

Would someone (Qwerty?) upload some pics/diagrams showing where id numbers are
located, including those for gearbox and rear axle too.

Those for Minor MM's too, as chassis stamp and NMP plates are in different
places.

Pics/Diagrams of the following;

Chassis plates
Stamped in chassis numbers
NMP plates
Body number/Cowley plates
GPO van Body number plates
Engine numbers
Gearbox numbers
Rear Axle numbers

Thanks

You can find a pic of the MM chassis stamp location on the internet - hidden by o/s/f shock
absorber.

1953-1962 GPO van body numbers are affixed to the n/s lower horizontal strut - behind
spare wheel.

See here for paint codes: http://www.mmoc.org.uk/index.php?page=340

Old English White was the only white used in '61.
