Time for an update, since the last post I have;
Removed all the suspension torsion bars and all.
Cleaned and painted everything.
Rebushed everwhere with poly bushes.
Removed, cleaned and rebuilt the steering rack.
New track rod ends and gaiters.
Replaced front hub bearings and seals.
Upgraded to 9 inch brakes.
Replaced the master cylinder and pipes.
Rebuit the front suspension and brakes.
Cleaned and overhauled the dampers.
All I have to show for it is this picture!
It doesn't look much for 6 weeks of work. Now I can finally put the wheel on roll it out and clean up. Then its time to give the back end the treatment.

Thats a lot of work, though! Keep it up!, the 9" drums look nice, much better way to go IMHO than discs.

Ok, its nearly the full monty- err interior - wrong colour roof lining wrong type of sun visors. But the rest looks fab. Biscuit with dark green carpet.
I'm really glad I decided to have the BM carpet in place of the NC it is much nicer and better quality (IMHO).
Most of it will be put away now until Christmas, but I plan on sitting in front of the fire during the long winter evenings recovering my seats and making the parcel shelf.

I've just drained the rear axle prior to taking it off. No oil came out at first then there was a rush and it drained out as usual. - I sieved the oil, as you do, and found what look like two teeth.
Oh well looks like a replacement dif.
I'll take the shrapnel with me to the classic car show. there should be more experts than you can shake a half shaft at. And probably the same number of opinions!

Last week I showed Bill two teeth that came out of the rear axle when I drained the oil.
Well I've taken it apart now and the teeth all look fine. The bits in the oil aren't small 8mm x 7mm and tappered with a shiney curved face.
Blowed if I can find any damaged teeth. I guess the previous owner must have changed the diff and missed these bits when/if he cleaned it. I've checked the ends of the half shafts and they look perfect.

Here are some pics of the work I've done on the axle and dampers.
Tomorrow I'm going to refit the axle and dampers and if I have time finish the brakes.
I even managed to change the pinion oil seal - I had a spare - had to get the garage to undo the nut with a air rachett, but job done now.

Here are some pictures of the body shell and components.
They have only had one topcoat, but I thought they looked so nice I'd put the pictures up for all to see.
The colour match is perfect, but the pics look a bit variable. For those who can't remember it's Porcelain Green.
I think as more like mint choc icecream without the choc! In any case it's good enough to eat.
Now it is time to put her back together.
