Good luck, sending positive thoughts to the MOT man, though looking at your car a pass should be a formality 8)

We have mot.

(big smile on face)

Went straight through with only advisory being no tell tale for the hazards.

Ccar has a marina loom and switches so we have a marina hazard light switch but no tell tale. I will sort it but I am oh so chuffed at a straight through.

I knew it would but its always nice when it happens.

Drive back in the rain wasn't so nice with stiff suspension and loads of low down grunt, very lively and entertaining.

No need for hazards on that age of car - just put tape over the switch next time. Well done with the MOT. How about some pics/Youtube of the car in action!

pics of serious action will come because once it has been rolling roaded I will do a track day with it. Not so as to run the car ragged but it would be nice to have some photos of it cornering hard and obviously tail sliding photos would be cool to have.

My favourite track that I have done before in other cars is cadwell. Moggy should look good there I think.

Hmm - last time I was at Cadwell it was a) freezing cold b) snowing heavily c) we had 1 hour to change the clutch in a Rallycross Mini. We made it - great circuit -although I wasn't driving - just mechanic.

just under 11 seconds.

must remember though that this is still a project in the making, not been rolling roaded yet. Set up is all by ear and trial and error so far. Launch was very gentle because of the cheap 175 70 13 tyres I am running.

I feel 0 to 60 with 195 quality tyres would be mid 7's.

well, I am going to a pub show tomoroow come hell or high water at Ashby Follville, near Melton Mowbray. So I have polished the car in and out and couldn't resist taking a couple of piccies:

front bumper back on but black blade not chrome.
Image
Engine now with green steel rocker cover and morris badge to look a bit more original.
Image
cleaned up in here a bit recently so thought I would show off. By the way my rear tele's are mini ones mounted vertical and the nasty bolt on beam has been welded on each end for the last 2 inches or so.
Image
Subtle "supercharged" badges on bonnet are from a range rover, just couldn't resist.

Anybody else going to ashby tomorrow?

I am now running 97 ron fuel with octane booster as well and the difference is huge. Have been able to move the timing forward a few degrees without pinking and it doesn't bog down like it used to if you moved the throttle too quick. BIG improvement on better petrol.

My mojo for this project has definitely gone at the mo.

If I put it up for sale how much do we think its worth?

I am not looking for the ultimate money by the way I just want to price it correctly.

it is so hard to price a project like this because you have done so much work on it. Maybe if you were to break it down (theoretically only) into two parts and value them separately , lke say as a stock moggy in this condition how much would it be worth? and how much would the engine and box be worth?? add them together and you will at least have a starting point? must admit to been having thoughts about this car sincei saw the for sale add!

my feeling is a solid 1275 5 speed minor 2 door with discs, shocks etc has got to be worth over £2k and probably nearer £3K in this condition.

supercharger if tuned and engine freshened up I think would add £1500. As it is it must add at least £500.

as it is I am looking for somebody who wants to carry on with it at a sensible price so both parties can feel like they did ok.

I have to say I keep contemplating having it set up on the rollers properly and doing the 5 link rear. But that will envolve another 2 to 3 months and probably about a grand to do it. And then if I want to sell it I am going to need to get more for the car which I feel would be prohibitive to selling it.

Sensible friendly offers invited as is.

So you've got your eye on a SX200, I take it you've been following this neat project.

http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=219069

If i were to go to this much effort it would have to be a Subaru wrx or an Evo donor vehicle for me.

Derek.
