More from Anglesey, this time taken with a camera. Its strange that facebook takes all the photos I take on an I phone with no adulteration, cropping or resizing issues and certainly does not bung them upside down or indeed reject them as this site frequently does, but that may be another issue.

Looks like I will have to invest in a proper camera Ho hum! anyhow enjoy the piccies and the one of the hornets. Wasn't there a minor variant Riley Hornet ? Bet it didn't go like those little blighters !

Spotted yesterday afternoon, going south on the M1 near Junction 21 (Leicester) I'm sure someone around here will recognise it.
DVLA says it's 1957 and 2Ltr.
From the quick glance I got, looks like only 2 seats too as the driver appeared to be in the rear!

Something a little larger for you all........ Nottingham City Transport had a collection of buses in the City Square today, only about 10 or so, mainly from the 80's onwards at a guess, including a very modern Bendy Bus, but these 2 caught my eye:

First one is an AEC Regent Mk III which entered service with West Bridgford Urban District Council in Jan '54, and is a special 'Low Bridge' design due to the route into Nottingham which it was used on. It was operated by WBUDC transport dept until Nottingham City took over their routes in Sept 1968. Nottingham City used it for a short time, before selling it for preservation.

The other one, in green, is an AEC Chassis with coachwork by Brush of Loughborough. Brought by Nottingham City in Nov '51, it was retired from service in Oct '68, the last 7'6" bus used in the city.

Nice buses GB. The green trolleybus is probably an AEC 664/T. Built for many years. London Transport purchased hundreds of them between 1936 and 1939, then more between 1948 and 1950. The London trolleybus fleet only lasted until spring 1962.

By coincidence, I saw this bus outside Kidderminster Town Hall today. Must have been on Wedding duties in the pouring rain. Reg. No. BHA399C. Midland Red BMMO 'D9' with Carlyle bodywork.

Far too wet and double yellows so no pic from me. Found this pic (link below) of it on a preservation website.

Several months ago I heard about the father of a near neighbour who owned a convertible Moggie, allegedly 'in pieces' in the garage.

A few weeks back I posted this pic of a 1963 Smoke Grey convertible at a show.

Saw the car again today, with my neighbour's father behind the wheel as he prepared to put it away in its winter home, his daughter's garage.

Definitely NOT 'in pieces' as described to me back in the spring!

Thanks for posting that GB. Interesting info. Glad to know the correct details. I'm a bit clueless with buses except those indigenous to London, which I grew up around!

firedrake1942 wrote: Sun Sep 02, 2018 9:13 pm A lovely day at North London and Middlesex rally at Capel Manor, Excellent company with minor owners, you just know you are going to gel with. Cars of all conditions , but all sharing one thing. the love of their owners. Just next door is a carcrally with loads of different models from brash americana to three more minors apparently feeling lonely....
UMMO'S fielded three minors, myself Colin and Carol Cantor and Ray Mitchell (tow other 'irregulars' were also present and it was damn good to see them). All three UMMO cars got awards, with Ray Mitchell (Gulliver a G reg Almond Green Traveller) achieving concourse - well deserved and a Branch first, Colin's lovely Clarendon grey early S 2 tourer getting second in that class, again well deserved, and my beloved Neddy, which has served me well for over 40 years getting first in four door saloons.
Prizes aside, the welcome and the organisation from our good friends at NlM was first class. The trip over through the Herts countryside, reminded us all of how lucky we are to be living in this luscious corner of our green and pleasant land. (You can tell I'm home and I have had a beer) and above all the people from far and wide who came to celebrate Morrises.
On that subject the BMC stable and Issiggonis designed cars were out in force from A30/35 to the horde of 1100's. Maxi, Allegro (Much maligned - take note J Clarkson !) and MG's.
NB VERY NICE lowlight MM present !
TRY IT NEXT YEARS, IT IS ONE OF THE BEST SMALL REGIONALS AROUND !
Sorry I missed you there, when I checked on the branch website it said 1st and 2nd, so I popped along on the 1st after getting up at 6 to clean the whole car and it was just a set up day  really annoyed as I had missed the previous years one too.

Wasn't able to make it on Sunday so...

Hopefully the Traveller will be ready for next year!

A couple of spots from yesterday's monthly meet at the Old Waggon & Horses near Kidderminster.

The green 2-door is a local car with 43,000 on the clock. It's for sale at £5,500 but no phone number on the advert! Couldn't find the owner either.

Well actually it is mine, we just fancied a quick ride out whilst it was sunny and the roads were dry.
