Hi
Our 1970 traveller and my brother's Trimph Spitfire are going on the Gapers Tour in Ypres, Belgium in April. Though the cars are well maintained and my dad is coming (he's a mechanic), we think it would be wise to take out european breakdown cover - just in case. Can anyone reccomend a company? All the quotes are so expensive, even the AA, who we are members with. what do the MMOC use? Is there a company used for the MOT?
Thanks
Vicky

Re: European cover
Do an internet search. I recovered a car to Cornwall from Somerset. He had got 10 days cover, full breakdown and full recovery for the whole of Europe, for about £25.00

Re: European cover
I use Britannia Rescue on my daily drivers. Been very good in the UK but never had to use them in Europe.

Re: European cover
Your own insurance company may do European cover, try 'phoning them.

Re: European cover
I stand to be corrected, but if you've got the Footman James cover through the Club scheme I think European cover /recovery is included.

Yes Footman Jones do European breakdown cover but you have to 'phone them to inform them of the dates of the trip.

Re: European cover
Thanks for that. I think I just rang them up. No extra charge for cover, although things may have changed.

Re: European cover
My UK and European breakdown cover costs me £30 for the year bought directly from my insurers so it's worth a try giving your insurers a call
