The author calls it classically ugly, I think not, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
But never the less different. I want one, Jag performance traveller economy??

How interesting. I wonder how it handles? I think I'd almost be fond of it if there wasn't a weird dip in the middle that made it look as though it were going to snap in half at any moment.

He works for the daily Mail, I wouldn't trust him to tell me the time of day.

If it was April 1st I wouldn't have believed it. Even in the 70s I would have thought an XK150 to was too valuable to mess about with like that.

Remember seeing a picture of that some years back. There's rather less Minor involved than the article suggests just the wood and roof on the XK chassis and floor. Yes its a pity about the roof line. As an idea it could have worked so well, but I guess the work in reshaping the roof and straightening out the rear edges of the door tops whcih it needs for the lines to follow through were too much work.
I wouldn't be surprised if it gets rebuilt as a standard XK roadster. Must be worth far more in original form!

For some mysterious reason I had a cold call from someone trying to sell reduced price subscriptions to the Mail.
Even after I said that I won't even pick up the free copies they have at airports she still seemed to think I should be interested in the deal!

A little later a chap called with the same pitch, no idea who he was, some kind of super salesman he thought.

By shouting at him down the phone, having explained it once, he eventually understood that if you can't give something to someone, saving money isn't the issue, it's the product.

Exactly Iain - it WILL undoubtedly be bought for restoration to an XK.

Indeed there's a company in Norfolk who make all new body panels for XKs, even a new shell. So it will be a straightforward if, not cheap, job to bring it back to standard. Probably be a cheaper way of getting an XK...
