Restoration projects.

Post by StaffsMoggie »

A bit of an open question this. What is the going rate for a project now? A Minor saloon for instance.

Do you mean how much to buy a car for a project or do you mean how much to finish a project car?

Depends entirely on what you are buying - what state it is in. I understand the scrappy will pay out ~£100 for a car - so the starting point is anything above that! Of course you may find one where the owner is glad to see it going to 'a good home' and may give you it for the taking away!

It depends on how much has been done and how well! Remember someone who is prepared to give up will not have had their heart in it for some while, so things get done reluctantly, ie rushed/poorly. Or they don't know how to do things, make a mess and want shot. Imho, better finding one that needs work but has not been messed with, you determine your own quality then.
