Don't believe there's any designated division for those "into" numbers
and research(?), bit odd really.
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

The site needs a welcome section as new members soon get lost in the general section .The then new member thinks that its not that friendly as nobody see,s the post and doesn't get the reception they deserve .Also I would like to see a numbers section as Chris suggested as it would be very helpful :D .The money the club generates off members as Millerman says we don't get a very good state of the art website its prehistoric

All we know is that the first company employed by the Club were unable to do the work required and another company is currently being sourced. Until such time everything is on hold. We're working on very old outdated software and trying to keep it together please allow for this. Everyone working here is a volunteer giving up their spare time to keep things running.

Is it worth putting a request in Minor Matters to see whether any member has the nozzle to do this, rather than paying a company to do it?

It has to be a company - this work involves totally new system to upgrade all the Club office systems as well as any website requirements i.e. online membership and renewal, online payment facilities for future use, and any messageboard upgrades. It is not a job that can be done on a part-time basis.

Fair comment. The MMOC has a around £250,000 in the bank, it's about time some was spent on new IT systems. Ask for some quotes from members who in that business go to this forum http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/foru ... f=95&mid=0 I'm sure someone on there would put a price in for the work

I've seen such utter rubbish. Of course you can voice your opinion. the Committee is not some unapproachable ogre; they are all normal friendly people, who volunteered to do the job - any member can volunteer to help run the Club. If you prefer not be be involved, then just submit suggestions or reasoned arguments, and they will be considered. It IS a democratic organisation, and plenty of people spoke at the AGM.

The new site also needs a Like button, a la Facebook. So I can like the post above (but I think you missed out the word 'never' in the first sentence!)

As I never tire of saying Irmscher, I am an extraordinarily lucky man in having dozens of very good friends in the MMOC.
