Is there a complete chronological list of all changes?
Hi
Is there a complete detailed list of all the changes made to the minor from start to finish in chronological order?
Thanks

Re: Is there a complete chronological list of all changes?
I'm not aware of a complete list and I doubt if there is a definitive one. Some of the changes came in over a period, such as high lights which came over two years according to body type, destination market etc. Electrical equipment had to be tailored to meet local laws on indicators and such so there would have been various types being made simultaneously.
I use Original Morris Minor by Ray Newell as a guide.

Thanks, I was looking on Amazon earlier at books, maybe that one would be worth buying.ianmack wrote:I use Original Morris Minor by Ray Newell as a guide.

Also check out the Morris Minor Guide to Buying and Restoration by Lindsay Porter - this contains a chronological history of the car including changes made to each series.

Boomlander is correct about the Lindsay Porter book, but you might find it listed under "The Haynes Restoration Manual: Morris Minor and 1000". Don't buy it for the restoration advice, though - it was good in its day, but much more detail and better pictures on the Resto section of this site!

I have a spare copy of the Ray Newell book. It is in excellent condition with just a small tear on the dust cover. Feel free to make me a offer if you want it. Geoff

There is no book that lists all the changes, both Skilleter and Newell have modifications missing, the rear roof moulding variations, the engine compartment bulkhead modifications and the change in chassis plate types to name a few. Modifications were fitted as and when they became available, there was a gradual change from Series MM to Series II

Collected the book today, its ironic that I should have such a detailed work on the Minor given the total mismatch of parts that mine is!
