Moggie Needed for School Prom

Post by GarethB »

Dear All

I am in Rugby, Warwickshire and my daughters school prom is on Friday 26th June.

She did ask if she could be taken in my 1973 Ford Capri RS3100 but only made the request after the car came back from the Soda Blasters in July last year as I have been restoring the car since November 2013. It is going to be tight to have my car ready in time, but she is a big fan of Morris Minors and would like to buy one next year when she starts learning to drive.

To take her to the prom in a Morris Minor my wife and I think would be a nice surprise for her and she wouldn't be too disappointed if the Capri isn't ready.

Please reply here or PM me and I will pass on my contact number etc. or call you back so we can discuss details.

RS3100 Start Point

Current Status; front finished, doors on, just boot and floors to repair before paint!

Full Restoration can be seen here, but I am about a month behind on my updates!

Many thanks

Just so as you're aware, though, this is the friday before the biggest weekend rally on the calendar for the club, the national rally.
Someone might be able to hep you out on the way up to the rally, though, but dont be too surprised if theres a lack of availability - it's not indicitive of the club!!

Thank you for the updates.

I think the Rugby meet is today which is a shame as I need to pack all the refurbished parts for my restoration to take to the restorers tomorrow, the first of three trips!

Hopefully we will be able to get up to the rally. So far we have found all the members we have spoken to at many shows very helpful, hence making our request as soon as we knew my car wouldn't be available.

With luck next month I'll be at the Rugby meeting.

Don't tell my daughter, but her birthday present in July is membership to the club;-)

Hi, quite happy to help. I have two moggies - a 1968 white two door and a 1958 two door. I live in Coventry so not too far away. Regards, Paul

Hi Paul, just sent you a PM, look forward to having a chat.

To everyone else, on the forum as well as the shows you are all a friendly bunch. Once my Capri is finished I think I might be a bit scared to drive it, so with everyone being friendly here I think once a Moggie is added to the fleet the family can have just as much fun and possibly more than with the Capri. Something I never thought I would say :o

By the way, I'm an Essex boy at heart now living in the Midlands that was brought up on Fords, but I never said I was perfect :D
