I bought a modern 14" space saver spare wheel from an auto wreckers, peeled the tire offn the rim, put it on the spare rim for our MM and never looked back. Don't really see the need for a same size spare as don't get many flats theses days, maybe one every 5 or 8 years. Modern cars don't come w/a same size spare either. Lots of room in the boot now.
There was no complaint from the examiner when I had the safety inspection done.

Ok that's sounds like a good idea I did deflate the tyre and it went in with a squeeze . What about the inner tube is that the same size

Honestly. What on earth is the point of carrying around a flat spare tyre :-? If the 155 tyre you have won't fit in the boot and won't match those on the car anyway, just get yourself a proper sized spare - even if it's a secondhand one!

Better than nothing at all - and an electric pump will blow it up while the car is being jacked up and the flat removed......

Christ that must of been hard to get off
Not any harder than than a normal tire.
are they solid
No, they're built more or less the same as a normal tire. They feel pretty solid when inflated to 55 or 60 psi.
