A tyre that size (same size as mine) should fit without any trouble at all. What seems to be stopping it going in?

you may have the larger capacity petrol tank which is higher in the boot than the smaller capacity tank

There is no commercial 'space saver' that will fit a Minor. Just carry a standard wheel.

Oh I see yes it probably is the tank it is rather high so I just have to put up with no boot space then that's a bugger , ok thanks

A new 6.5 gallon tank would set you back around £230.00.
Maybe you could find a good used one at a breakers or Ebay.

145 or 155/80/14 should both fit easily on top of a 6.5 gall fuel tank and still leave room for a spare set of gaskets

Jethro's boot takes a 145 tyre but a 155 simply won't fit and I'm sure he has the smaller 6.5 gallon tank......weird or what? :-?

The small tank is 5 gall, the large tank is 6.5 gall. A 9.5 gall tank is available from specialist suppliers
Has the rear lip of the boot been bent down?
A 155 tyre fits in my Series MM which has been fitted with a 6.5 gall tank and also in my Traveller which has a standard 6.5 gall tank. Cannot fit the Traveller 175/80/13 on the fuel tank

I don't know I'll take a pic tomorrow and post it on here , but I did measure the gap between the fuel tank and the compartment roof and it measured just over 13 cm at the smallest point

That's a good price but I don't think I would be able to fit It myself so I think I will just have to come up with an easier solution

How about deflating the tyre and carrying a foot pump :)

There have been people who put the spare in the bonnet, many disadvantages, but you do get to keep the larger tank.

I deflated the tyre and it went in so now I'm happy but I noticed it was a 155 and not a 145 like the others

Sounds like a good plan...not ideal having a spare that doesn't match the others .
