Agreed. No chassis plate either.
Could be a '69?

Are these home made 'cover sills' that have been welded over the rotten originals ?

Are they not stainless steel sill finishers which replace the original rusty ones?bmcecosse wrote:Are these home made 'cover sills' that have been welded over the rotten originals ?
Re: What looks like another dodgy minor on ebay
The underfloor picture shows very obvious 'cover sills' .

Re: What looks like another dodgy minor on ebay
In his write up he says stainless steel but like he has cocked them up
Re: What looks like another dodgy minor on ebay
he does say under bonnet plates [ i guess chassis plates ] were not on the car when he took the pictures but he has them and will send pictures if you want ,
Re: What looks like another dodgy minor on ebay
The usual crappy bodge,to cover over the rotten under sills, and I bet the upper sill covers are welded in to prevent people asking to look inside at the,non existant boxing panel. Don't think I will be bidding

How strange!.......The car is "No longer available for sale".
Draw your own conclusions folks!

I asked him a few questions - his answers became more and more vague...

Re: What looks like another dodgy minor on ebay
Looks like someone put a bit of effort into disguising a later car, but there were lots of obvious anomalies. Goodness knows what it's true history and condition is.
Re: What looks like another dodgy minor on ebay
Very possibly stolen - and disguised with details from a scrap 59. He tells me has had the car for many years...whatever difference that makes...... He now tells me there has been a 'mix up with number plates' - and it will be re-listed soon....
Re: What looks like another dodgy minor on ebay
the old mix up with the number plate mistake easily done we have all had the plates fall of our vehicles and put them back on the wrong ones !!!!

Re: What looks like another dodgy minor on ebay
It is amazing how many times i see cars that look a bit dodgy and when i do a goodle image search i find the image is a stolen from a site. For those not in the know google image search allows you to view an image and see if it appears on other sites that google has a snap shot of.
if you go here https://www.google.co.uk/imghp and click the little camera symbol to the right of the search bar you can paste a link to an image on a site or click the tab to search for an image you have saved on your pc.
with most images the link can be got by right hand clicking on the image and selecting view image, and using the address in the address bar. Hope this helps some one avoid buying a dodgy motor.
