MMOC newbie here

Post by palacebear »

Having only just applied for MMOC membership, and having just purchased my first Minor since 1986 (both done yesterday), I thought I'd say hello. I'm Richard, living in south London but soon relocating to Worcestershire. My Minor is a black '56 four-door with 55,000 miles on the clock. I take delivery tomorrow. I hope to see some of you at Horsted Keynes in a few weeks' time. Thanks for reading![frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]

Approx 12,000 since 1992 as far as I can tell. I guess you're familiar with the car...?

Chassis, body & engine numbers via pm when you've a few spare minutes please.

The MOT history is available online from DVLA. Everyone should check it before even considering buying a car. In this case - it's excellent. But some cars show a real tale of horror and woe .......

Car collected yesterday and driven the 25 miles home in pouring rain. I promise I didn't drive like a five-year-old, just rather (too) cautiously. A long time since I've had to deal with unassisted drum brakes, unassisted steering, small single speed wipers... and my fellow motorists who don't understand what trafficators mean!!! More pics to follow... when the sun comes out!

Series 11 wipers are great, for decoration purposes!! Buy some rain x, its great on the flat screen and helps the rain bead and run off

Agree about wipers. Rainex already applied. First 'proper' drive today. 65 mile round trip to Guildford for family lunch. Leisurely but uneventful using back-roads, not A3. My sister's initial reaction was 'oh God, not one of those!' although the simplicity of the interior has started to win her over (she's an MGB-driving 70 year-old so there's still hope for her!).
