What sad news. A real loss, not least to us here in the Minor world. I strongly suspect Roy had forgotten more about Minors than I will ever know. His advice, help and support over the 15+ years that I have had my Minor has been very much appreciated.

RIP Roy :(

As a relative newcomer I always found the man not just a great help, but everything he offered was laced with a little humour and a wry grin.
Sincere condolences to his friends and family.
Some boots are just too big to fill, he will be sorely missed I think.

We didn't always agree, but Roy was a key member of this and other forums, and will be very sadly missed.

RIP and my very best wishes Roy

This is actually my first post, though I've perused the forum quite a bit for info.
What a shame to lose this highly knowledgable gentleman, I found his posts both informative and entertaining, I'm sorry I never got to even exchange a bit of forum banter with him. RIP Sir

Very, very sad. I always enjoyed reading Roys comments on the forum, the man was a fountain of knowledge on all things Morris & will be sadly missed.

Now we'll never know why he so disliked 'blue gasket goo'.

RIP Roy, i didnt always agree with its NEVER THE COIL, but he was a very special person who had alot to offer and spent alot of time helping others on here and other forums, he will be sadly missed and never forgot, my thoughts are with his family at this time.. and yes a trophy in tribite of him would be rather fitting in all respects..

I've just had a look and I see that his profile is still 'live'.
I hope it can be left that way to his memory. As someone else on here said, there will only ever be one BMCecosse.
Also that way all his posts / insights / advice will remain on here and available for those searching topics for information to solve their problems.
RIP Roy.

I've often fallen foul of his Paxmanesque disdain, but have learnt such a lot via this forum. A one off!

I've only just found out that we have lost Roy. I should have guessed as I've made a couple of posts without him disagreeing with everything I said.
God bless you Roy. May you be in a place where Minors don't rust and everybody realises that Riley drums are a much better idea than disc brakes.
You will be missed by all.

Its funny the things that stick in ones mind, Roy and I having for instance a joint hatred of people sitting at traffic lights with their foot firmly plonked on the brake blinding me with their brake lights.
Never met the man sadly, but always liked his sense of humour, will it ever be the coil?

Well I'll be blowed, it was only the other day I replied on a thread about the very same thing, flipping stop lights instead of a handbrake!! Amazing how tired some people must be.

I was wondering why we hadn't heard from him (The forum having been down) and this is indeed a blow  . I was hoping he might have seen my Flying Scotsman pictures. I had a British Steam DVD set for Christmas and one of the places visited was the Boness Railway, which reminded me of him. A lot of celebrities died on the run up to this Christmas past and I suggest that in Morris Minor terms, Roy Allingham (BMCecosse), was one of them.
