"I used to have one of them.."
I was stopped on an industrial estate today. Usual story about having one new in the 1960s and it finally dying from rot.
"Would you like some spares? I've still got boxes of stuff in the garage."
Well, 2 full car loads of Minor parts including a brand new rear wing, some original Lucas lamps in their fancy 1950s boxes, BMC gaskets sets, new boxed Trunnion kits, wiper blades, BPF headlamp kits, new hubcaps still in the wrappers, hundreds of spark plugs etc. Good day out. Just need to sort through it before the rain comes.

Of all the luck!
I've just been given a russian motorbike but after twenty years in someone's garden it remains to be seen whether its an asset or a liability.

Funny enough. My uncle came round today. He used to have 57 or 53 split screen years ago. I took him out for a spin and let him drive. He couldn't believe what it was like to drive to begin with. After awhile he said its quite stable actually tho we were only doing 25 mph.

Hello Sid, yes it does have a sidecar, but not much sidecar floor!

Looks like a cossack. There was a legend that the russian farmers hooked their ploughs up to them when the tractor broke. There was a shaft drive to the sidecar and reverse gear for the bigger model.
Black 4door series2 deluxe 1954, mostly original, a bit tatty but reliable runner. purchased 1996

It's a Cossack Dnieper, 650cc. It does have the reverse gear, but not drive to the sidecar wheel. Now I've dismantled the engine it doesn't look too bad so it should be a viable project, hopefully.
